I completely agree HAL is not like any other company. I had my uncle in HAL and He was telling me what relaxed life one can enjoy in HAL without working too much. I don't mind people enjoying relaxed life but when Armed forces need something they should have worked on warpath. Hope Govt soon privatized HAL and reform the work culture.

It is also very evident that the IAS is a lot (much like our judiciary) which has very little domain expertise but has worldly knowledge about almost everything and that's why a secretary from horticulture can run, propose and execute decisions related defence or finance or external affairs, till he/she retires

Is it not a deliberate delay and cheating situation for procurement from foreign entities. Big money roll there, Sir. Modi Ji did realise this and try to improve by all positive means.....but remember the dialog in the Film Kasmir File.....System men to ham hi hain....now see where HAL and Babus behind it has brought us to. Eventually, we will have to buy it which will be followed by all types of arm twisting and political winch hunt. have some experience of how Indias offshore construction business was destroyed. This was a multi billion business and big muscle in energy market....

We agree with you totally. The Private sector should enter the manufacture of fighter and defence aircraft. I have seen how a mega project like IDPL which was a government run project went to the dogs. The Private sector fortunately stepped in to manufacture life saving drugs. Sir respect to both of you,as you say we need to have private players in air craft manufacturing or say private assembly lines to increase the production rate of fighter jets,first of all any private player must have the workable orders to overcome the expenditures of establishment of assembly lines means atlest the orders for fifteen to twenty years without any interruptions

@@dipakshah1479 not possible, ISRO has accountability directly to the PM, but it is not practically possible to make every PSU accountable to PM, being a PM in country like INDIA is not an easy job. The main issue is media, who doesn't pick topics that are important to discuss for our national security and to put pressure on PSU to work faster. 2nd problem is corruption and lack of accountability in bureaucracy (top - bottom). Govt. itself claimed in their report, 2020 covid funds alloted for poor people not reached their doors, reason - corrupt bureaucrats. 3rd problem is loop holes in policy making and execution of policies.

Even to do the reverse engineering, we don't have workforce available. HAL & other PSU are pathetic, only 5%-8% of workforce works all other just enjoy the government salary. Shameless people!! I had seen all the PSU in Hyderabad & Bangalore........... 90% of employees in these organizations are totally useless!! Other 10% who work and brilliant are poached by private & foreign companies.

I disagree that Tejas is a super fighter. If the purpose is short combat radius where a canard less unstable aircraft can escape in spin roll giving Jar Jar type experience the Tejas is fine. If air dominance is needed, Tejas will be a total failure. The GE engines is arguable a bright spot in this aircraft.

First two tejas can use reserve ge 404 engine, which hal have , but due to "management issues" that delay was 1 year. Or jab bhi mrfa ka baat hota hai tab bazar me fek dete hain mark 2 rollout this year, amca metal cutting complete etc.
