If you want to be an early childhood teacher you would study a bachelor of education. If you want to be a childcare worker you can do a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

What happens if the student finds a part-time job during the 2nd year of study in order to get 12 months of local professional experience in the field of studies/occupation? Would that count as the 1 year required to be positively assessed by TRA to get the 5 points related to 1-3 years of work experience in Australia? (my point is: is it possible to get the 1 year of australian professional experience prior to graduation, thus avoiding the Job Ready Programme?)

Great question. It depends if you have finished the main course. Some colleges offer this course for only 12 months for the Cert III. If that is the case you may be able to use the later work experience for points. You would still need to pass the skills assessment through.

Yes it is possible, it is actually quite common. You just need to meet the work experience requirements.
