Pathway to PR after Studying a Trade Course

You may be able to do a 407. But you would usually go to the 485 Temporary Graduate Work Visa

Hi Hannah, so yes on the expression of interest you can apply for all 3 (189, 190 and 491). When you lodge an Expression of interest, if you are not selected, your visa is not denied or refused. You just don't receive an invite.

There is huge demand for early childhood teachers in Aus. You should look to see if you can pass a skill assessment first. Then if you can, potentially look at the employer sponsored or general skilled migration visas (depending on your age)

Yes we no longer recommend plumbing as a course for international students. The licensing is difficult for plumbing

I have 75 points in finance before considering AU…from what I understand i can get to 95 pts with 5 for 2yrs study + 5 for regional study, 5 for 1yr working, and then 5 for 190 nom; tips for stacking more with a masters or other type of education? Could i do some other course in demand without the work exp and get pr straight out of study with 90 points ? If so which one? I dont have work exp at all in my country only BAC in finance and i know financial related occup are not in demand in AU rn :(

Hi, so the points is not necessarily that mark for the 190 or 491. I think that each state has different requirments and many applicants would have been invited to certain states with lower points, assuming they meet the requirements.

Very unlikely. If you apply for a refugee visa, immigration would likely refuse the student visa due to genuine temporary entrant requirements.

To get a skills assessment for electrician from TRA is also a paper based application or do I have to go to Australia for practical and theoretical exam? I’m from Brazil and have been working as electrician since 2010. I got an skills assessment from TRA in 2018 when I was living in Australia and it was all paper based, it expired and I was reading on their website and what I understood is that I would have to go to Australia to do some practical to get the skills assessment to apply for 491 or 190 visa.

@@Pathwaytoaus yes, I do need to start from the beginning, but in 2018 when I got one it was only a paper based application, with payslips, letter from the employer, certificate and others documents, but I lost everything with the pandemic and now I think it changed and they included a practical and technical interview, even for offshore applicants.
