Bro we are in year 6 of this shit and Zion still hasn’t sniffed the floor in a playoff game. You can’t compare us to the Celtics timeline w Jaylen and Jayson at all.

I agree w the idea of improving the team to win now, just not at the expense of winning in the future. The goal should be to put ourselves to win over a period of time not just go all in to try & win one year. Pelicans don’t have the luxury of mortgaging our future to try in win one year. Spend to make the team better I’m for that but avoid going into luxury tax as long as possible until it’s inevitable.
@kylebrown1581

normally, I would agree. The problem is this team has never won so we don’t know what going all in and winning would lead to. Maybe that opens the gate for those who previously hadn’t considered the Pels, and winning leads to more options at a better price. We’ve seen guys take less to jump on a championship train. No guarantees, but nothing is ever a guarantee in sports.

my issue is going into the luxury tax for washed up or older players but scared to pay your young players because you might go over the luxury tax one year knowing full well the cap is going up significantly in the next 2 years. reward the players that have kept your team at the least in a postion to be a playoff team and able to win sooner

If the Pels got better at free throws, they could utilize the "and 1" and maybe make up those deficits. Celtics were #1 & mavericks #5 in ft%

Great show Jake!! Here’s my take: 1. Trade BI & CJ…relieve $63 million on books 2. Get Big Time Rim Protector 3. Get 2 Tall & Long Power Forwards that can shoot 3’s & FT’s(ie;White/Brown for Celtics) 4. Get killer point guard(Mark Sears in draft), top free agents who can shoot 3’s & FT’s. Get this done & we have a contender! Note: *BI’s style of play doesn’t fit with Pels…he’s not going to change! He ball hogs, doesn’t drive to the goal enough & disrupts flow of offense. *CJ way too inconsistent shooting 3’s, mishandles ball & turnovers, doesn’t hustle enough, chokes in critical moments…never will help Pels win title.

I no longer believe that Brandon Ingram should be traded. Draft a center with the 21st pick, and have CJ come off the bench. Start Trey Murphy over him.

CJ is a bench player at this point in his career but he makes too much money to come off the bench, he needs to be moved, Hawkins can do what he does on the floor

Realistically, BI didn’t have the first step he had in years past, his jumpers release is also a bit slow on top of him being uncomfortable shooting threes. Players can just force him to shoot over them

Doesn't have much value with being paid $33 Mill for the next 2 years. Maybe at the trade deadline but he did shoot more than 8 3s a game which you need.

@gerryconstant4914 teams trade for bad contracts all the time, he only has two years left on his deal, they would have to attach draft picks though. His money can go to Trey, Hawkins can do what CJ does on the court

It's insane to me that podcasters keep wanting to trade Herb for absolute shit on the off chance it somehow unlocks our team, just because he's one of the few players on our team with trade value. He has trade value because he's good and on a great deal. You keep those players unless you're doing a full rebuild and their age doesn't fit with that timeframe.

The New Orleans Pelicans is a small market team. So they need to manage this franchise just like OKC, thru the draft and being patient developing your drafted players into Young Stars in the NBA. The Pels franchise ownership and front office operations are laughable to NBA vets. So trading for NBA vets who don’t want to be here won’t be a good investment by trading away drafted young stars under a manageable rookie contract for a veteran who has a bigger contract with NO loyalty towards the New Orleans Pelicans Like Kobe always said after he grew as a vet, have Patience with the young Stars you have in your franchise

WE must remember they don't just play the other teams the play the refs too. Be real.. the script of the leagues are real. They not just learning to play and grow in the game in this league together, but also playing through the calls and uncalled fouls in the league. Basically BI Is going to be good just will he be good with us.. I say keep him if we smart. Get Cam Thomas from Brooklyn to come play with them.

@@DavionWhite-kx8jl there was a lot problems Willie green being the main problem if he was great coach he would have benched both BI and CJ but he did not . No one talks about how for 6 games CJ did absolutely nothing and was liability on both sides of the floor when Willie Finally benched both it always to late you were already down 2 nothing and you only benched them after you were blown out late in the third game. Willie maybe ok with X and O’s but when it comes to player rotation or benching he is not he does the same thing every year. Part of the reason you flounder in the middle of the pack is because of coaching. There also some bad things by David Griffin to stay under cap all the teams that built around the draft really maximized there draft David first two yrs he did not he also traded away picks to stay under cap. Also you haven’t seen vision from GM or coaching which is also why they flounder they have to many players that are either all defense or all offense where they flounder is on offense which tells you some of the sold called scorers aren’t enough on the offense side but are enough to have top defense. Also it’s hard to beat drum let’s shot more 3 pointers when you don’t actually play some of the best 3 point shooters on your team which came down to coaching. Also every big game Willie gets out coached and the players get out played that has been a consistent problem.

The lesson is that Zion is overrated and BI is underrated. The lesson is not to invest in a superstar who can't play defense and hasn't made a playoff appearance in his career. The lesson is to keep the players who have shown they can play both sides of the ball and surround these people with ahooters who can also play defense.

that wasnt demps fault, the celtics is who he was going to trade with and the deal was for brown, smart and picks, Boston wanted to pair AD with tatum. Like homie@Novacain943 said AD father came out and said he wouldnt resign with boston if traded there. David griffin was hired specifically to trade AD to the lakers. i still dont trust him. if you pay attention he has slowly traded away every asset we got from that trade except ingram, and if he does trade ingram soon, he has finessed the pelicans
