I had Legionnaires disease, and it was terrible. I went to six different doctors, being misdiagnosed every single time. I did not believe the doctors misdiagnosis, thank goodness, and the seventh doctor told me, I had Legionnaires disease, and asked me if I would like the correct antibiotic, before the blood tests came through. He said he was almost sure, as he had had Legionnaires himself, and this is how he knew. As soon as I started taking the antibiotic, within two days, I started improving. The results came through and were positive. To this day, I have no idea where I contracted it. I had mycoplasma as well. This is quite a frightening disease, but I was lucky, but I was on antibiotics for a long time.

@ @@dellt3122-- Wonderful! Clearly the God who created the laws of physics and the Universe is still working on the gift of free will; especially but not solely for the good intent demonstrated in these stories, when a large number of people concentrated their God given energies on making their friend well again. Now IF ONLY more People would understand how the Universe of matter we call solid works (I realize the reality of reality is an issue that is very difficult to comprehend but , my wish is that more of us do come to understand it. It does seem (thank God!) that more of the Human Family is beginning to wake up to the reality of what reality is in all its manifestations because I believe that there are more decent Human Beings on Planet Earth so it should not be impossible to overcome with our combined energy , those few who prefer to create evil outcomes in order to control us all. There is a book titled "Everything you Need to Know...but Were Never Told" by David Icke that I purchased only yesterday because I was hearing so much about it. I have been a prolific reader of physics books most of my life. I never understood what drove me to read such books. At first I could not understand a word written. But gradually, after gaining the perspective of many Physicists who were trying to tell us how the Universe works really, more of the words coalesced into meaning I could wrap my head around. Well, this book by David Icke managed to help me to put some of the stray dots together. I had still had not figured out where to put some of them. There are still a lot more to connect and I look forward to the challenge. I have not experienced many boring moments but this book insures that I will experience even fewer of them. It is not the end, as David Icke says himself, in the book, but a beginning. There seems to be no way that God's intellectual brilliance can be replicated in any of us Humans and for this we must forever be humbly grateful. It keeps us striving to reach for a better understanding of the reality that exists on Planet Earth at this time that is no time and place that is no place other than part of God's Universe with its endlessly fair laws of physics; which are immutable, by the way. And they are God. Thank you for sharing the story of your friend.

Or, personnel getting samples from suspected sources of the legionella bacteria without masks, protective clothing (water or mist can splash) and often without gloves.
@sandischmidt50284 жыл бұрын
Not wearing gloves all the time was quite normal back then. When I worked in a nursing home back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, we never wore gloves then unless a resident had a contagious infection.

You can tell how many years ago this was produced in that they think 60s is “elderly.” No modern program would say that until someone was pushing 80. Interesting how life expectancies have increased and with them our expectations of how full of a life we’ll have at various ages.
@beckyweaver59814 жыл бұрын
Nerys Ghemor Yeah, if 60 is elderly now. I hate to watch the millennials age. They’ll be old at 40. Hopefully they’ll retire their “music” too!
@alexcarter88074 жыл бұрын
Considering the relatively low and falling life expectancy in the US, yeah 60 is a little young to call "elderly" but it's not far off. If you're poor/homeless, typically you don't live to that age.
@nerysghemor57814 жыл бұрын
Becky Weaver God, I cannot stand modern pop music. My Baby Boomer parents listen to it. I have no idea how they tolerate that shit. And the ironic part is they introduced me to the good stuff from the 70s.
@beckyweaver59814 жыл бұрын
Nerys Ghemor Oh wow I’m LMAO! Here’s the weird thing tho - I really do love Billie Eilish. Her tunes are very catchy and I like it that she doesn’t do anything she doesn’t want to do and produces her own mood music right at home in her bedroom whenever she feels like it. And she doesn’t copy everybody else’s singing style by screaming and yelling. I actually like her whispering voice. And how she produces her own music. On her own terms. not when or how some record company tells her to do it. But all the rest of these people have been kidding themselves if they really believe that their noise (that’s what I call it) is really “music!” You are right though. the old music is the good stuff. (Ha ha what is wrong with your Boomer parents?!)
@nerysghemor57814 жыл бұрын
Becky Weaver Thankfully on my last trip to visit my parents the car was in the shop and that meant no Sirius XM. So they found a local classic rock station instead. So much more pleasant this time! And even better that they had to listen to terrestrial radio. Satellite radio has so much god awful compression it sounds like it’s coming out of a mailbox. Yes, Dad, I know your first radio was a transistor radio with ONE earbud (no stereo sound yet!) but that does not excuse going back to that quality!! XD

I had necrotizing pneumonia in the top 2 lobes of my right lung. They gave me rifampin and azythromyacin. I had a severe interaction with Rifampin and my Methadone maintenance as well as one of my HIV meds. It wasn't long til I was back in the hospital, this time for 7 weeks. My temperature spiked to 104.7*F I bled out and 3 litres of blood gushed through my chest tube and I had to have 8 blood transfusions and that saved me life. Closest I've ever come to death it was scary actually.

I need to be cautious, too, because colds turn into bronchitis for me - Stay well.❤

After finding the cause, they never mentioned the course of treatment to kill this disease ! What did they do with the hot tub ? Did the health officials take it ? And what kind of specialized treatment did they give the patients that were already infected ? This is not one of those epidemics you say, make sure you wash yer hands and you’ll be ok like they say with the flu !!
@yottaforce4 жыл бұрын
All you need to do with the hot tub is put run it with some disinfectants. Sometimes you can have legionella in the hot water when the temperature is too low. All you do is raise the temperature to what it should have been and let it run for a while. Penicillin does not work on legionella, but other types of antibiotics do. In severe cases the patient is connected to an external lung machine. Washing your hands won't make a difference. Legionella infects through aerosols inhaled. It loves still, hot water. A typical place for infection is in your shower. This only happens if the system temperature is too low.
@rumplestilskinsmum50944 жыл бұрын
Morten Kristiansen thank you, what would be the ideal system temperature setting pls?
@yottaforce4 жыл бұрын
@@rumplestilskinsmum5094 According to Danish building code the temperature in the boiler should be minimum 55°C and at the tap 50°C to keep legionelle in check. Edit: Naturally that would be way too hot for the hot tub. There you need to rely on regular disinfection and maintenance.

In 2018 I had pneumonia so bad in my right lung they had to surgically intervene and insert a tube into my lung to drain it. I would have died had i not went to the ER when i had. I was in the hospital for 23 days. The weird part is that I had no fever at all, I had a cough and some wheezing(but I was a smoker and thought I was just getting bronchitis again I have since quit) the only symptom that made me go was when I tried to lift my arm, I had pain in my chest. Moral of the story: go to the hospital! Also don’t smoke 😅

It is a dramatisation. Don't get your knowledge from entertainment like this. BTW: You can't eradicate Legionella bacteria. With proper precautions, like correct temperature for hot and cold water, disinfectants in pools and the like you can avoid most cases like this.

I always wondered about produce misters... On one hand, cold water does help maintain the freshness of vegetables - (to an extent) but on the other, moisture contributes to mold. I bought some fresh blueberries the other day, they looked and smelled fine - no discoloration or white fuzz... I put them in my cereal and only took a bite but there was a foul, musty taste... I was sick for 2 days, but fortunately, got over it. Things like this just goes to show that even in today's world, with advanced medicine and hygiene, there are still outbreaks of infectious diseases and we must be vigilant.
@vampoftrance Жыл бұрын
You'll be fine. I ate the white fuzz a few times. Next time wash them off good. If you cook it with sugar that heat will boil it off. Also any fruit like a banana just cut the brown spot off I worked on a farm before we don't sell the spoiled ones we make wine with them.

Covid is a brutal virus that took me weeks to recover without medical care. If I had gone to hospital I would be dead now. When I began coughing up blood and very hard o breath I said my prayers ready to die. Hospitals have killed more people by putting them on ventilators forcing AI into damage lungs than any other cause. I’m 64 smoke 3 pks a day and have health issues yet I survived? People have been made to panic and the corruption with testing is widespread. Take the stupid masks off before you damage your immune system. Please?

Each city official group in these cases wants to be the hero and be the ones to solve the mystery killing people. But when there's an issue like this the correct people need to be called in immediately and in my opinion they took way to long TO CALL THE CDC IN!
@tovahromanov74144 жыл бұрын
There’s a long list of criteria for the CDC to step in, if a municipal or rural hospital doesn’t meet the criteria, they are legally (yep, you read that right, legally, not “allowed” to bring the CDC in). Now, that was the protocol about 12-15 years ago. Things have changed due to various and mutating strains of staph and flu where we now fill out a form and the CDC then decides if the case(S) are “worthy”. Sadly, it’s a bureaucratic nightmare and while there must be a better way, I don’t know how, who or where to start. It’s not a new problem but it’s a challenging one to say the least. Part of the criteria used to be how many deaths in what amount of time. Imagine being a minute outside of the “set criteria” and getting told “no”. It’s far from a perfect system most assuredly.
