What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
ASMR videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety relief, stress relief, insomnia relief, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more.

I always get the feeling that these characters are in a Dark Souls like struggle, where they adopt specific roles and dedicate themselves to them in order to keep their sanity in a broken world Yuri spends his time fervently gathering info and investigating strange phenomena Corvus is obsessed with new technology and is always searching for new equipment The candy man especially spends his time obsessing over chocolate recipes where to many others it would seem trivial. You sort of get the feeling that none of these things really matter but it's their respective fantasies which keep their sanity. I'm probably talking out my ass here, but regardless this a really fascinating universe you've created here Paul and I can't thank you enough for it.

Great video as always man :) The low contrast visuals in this are a bit more relaxing (although it doesn't matter since i listen with my laptop closed aha) I have a feeling the Ephemeral Rift facility is like a building where each ward is another dimension. Like Ward Z (the only place where patients can eat staff members) is the zombie dimension. And Arkham Sanitarium is just another ward. The Ephemeral Rift might just be an overlapping point where all pop-culture universes merge. Otherwise I don't know how Professor Clemmons handles so many jobs lol. OORRRRR maybe E exists on a higher dimension and is able to perceive and interact with all possible universes and time spaces, which would explain how he's hundreds of years old, a post apocalyptic candy man, a victorian age witch doctor, a modern age tin-hat wearer, and a professor with knowledge of thousands of beings across multiverses. A being with such an overwhelming world would really need some relaxation, hence these videos. I FOUND YOU OUT...i hope...idk.

These videos aim to relax the listener via ASMR. This is the tingling feeling some get when hearing soft speech and tapping among other things. Here on ephemeral rifts channel he does this through the use of role play as fictional characters of his own design. Btw, thank you for asking politely and not saying 'what the **** is this whispering stuff'' like many others.

ASMR is something of a tingly feeling some people experience under a range of things (talking softly, tapping,3D sound etc.). Not everyone can get it (like me most of the time) although it's described as something to like warm sand trickling down your head or back. I, like many others, use it to get to sleep. It can also help relaxation, anxiety, depression, PTSD etc. 😊😊
