Thank you Dr. Ryan for your useful lectures. According the fluoride supplement dosage schedule children 3 to 6 y.o. 0.3-0.6 ppm Half dropperful 0,25mg F (1/2mL). Etc. It doesn’t explain time period and frequency.( /per month /per year) and medicine examples. You recommended drops for kids younger 3y.o. and tablets for older. Due to the most important fact for prevention oral diseases I wonder to put this crucial information into the lecture. your channel is very popular among dentists and this channel can help professionals from all over the world apply this treatment regimen in their countries, which will make a significant contribution to children's health. Thanks a lot

Could you tell us what agency is responsible for water fluoridation in the US?
@sofiabock3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Dr. Ryan for your amazing lectures. I would want to ask you if you have the fluoride toxic and lethal doses for children. Thank you in advance.
@mentaldental3 жыл бұрын
I would say about 1-5mg/kg for toxic and 500mg for lethal, so a bit lower than what it is for adults.

Hi Dr. you mentioned the optimal fluoridation being 1 ppm. And that’s what I’m gathering from my study resources but per the ADA it’s 0.7 ppm as of April 2015. Could you clarify? Thank you!
@mentaldental4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct about the ADA 2015 statement. Historically, the recommended optimal level for community water fluoridation has been 0.7 to 1.2 (1ppm average), but 0.7 ppm is the newer guideline. However, 1ppm is still the go-to for many communities for how they fluoridate their public water supply. If I had to choose, I would personally still stick with 1ppm if you had a question on this.

If fluorosis is associated with decreased caries incidence ?

It is! The one benefit of mottled enamel is that it is more resistant to caries formation.
