This was REALLY BAD. I was making full swings with a 5lb dead blow. to straighten out that damage. Heavy wrinkles. Really bad kinks in hard to reach areas. This was a no joke damage. Was super tired just from swinging that hammer. Really hard to film too because there were long pauses on what to do next. Figuring out which way to tackle this dent without doing more damage. There was no way to massage that quarter to bring it back with smaller hammers. Just too bad.

Artistry. There's no other word for it. Most of us have no clue about the kind of work it takes to fix the damage. This gives us some idea, thanks Mike.

Hey Mike ! Back in 73 I ran J.B. into a pile of rocks that Mr. Montalvo put on his yard to keep guy like me out of his yard . The damage was just the same except on the right side . I use a 2X4 with eye bolts through the bumper holes and chained it to a tree and backed up about 20 times at different angles and beat it with a ball peen hammer . I had a extra fender to slap on too .

Most so-called restorers would have given this wreck a wide berth! Great skills Mike and yet more proof that with hard work and know-how, anything is repairable.

Cool, not a bus but just what I have been hoping. A new restore👍 Just finished watching this and awesome job as always. I see now this was just a quick get it back on the road thing but love watching your work no matter what the end result is meant for. I agree it looks cool just the way it is but like you said needs to be safe on the road as well.

Did a 912 Porsche nose slam panel it had the nose pushed in by small accident , drilled couple holes in the front apron, eye bolt some bolts and big washers, chained it to a another car solid point then just rocked the little 912 back and forth until the hood fit nicely and closed without much effort. Guy said I was hired after that. Sadly guy who I did work for had to sell his 912 and a 69 911 Targa that had been sitting up In a garage for at least 30 years he was going to have me resurrect it next when his sister fell into hard times.

That little porta power did an amazing job of pushing things out. I was wondering if you had a frame post hiding in your garage somewhere... Doesn't look like you needed it!!!
@Mikefngarage Жыл бұрын
I wish. That and a clamp would have been good for this wreck. I keep wanting to make one with a pneumatic pump. But seem to make the porta power work.
