I love this technique! I’ve even put lace on a glass item and spray painted it and then lifted up the lace so you have the image of it left on the glass. Beautiful! ❤️🥰😍

I have our original house windows set aside for a project like this. The disadvantage I'm pondering is that they're all glass inside the frame, without the wooden sections you show here. This is marvelous inspiration. Thank you!

I hate to bug you with questions, but if you have a chance to respond I’d be grateful. I decoupaged fabric onto a book cover yesterday and now the surface is quite rough. Any suggestions on a product that I can use to make it smoother? I tried Liquitex varnish but it was bubbly so I wiped it off.

I’m very curious if anyone has an answer to this. I’d like to do this to my exterior windows for privacy in our busy neighborhood. I’m concerned about the lace becoming gray quickly as well as collecting dust that can’t really be cleaned off.

Maybe a silly question, but would this all wash off if you wanted to remove it later? I haven’t done much in the way of decoupage yet so I appreciate your tips.

Yes, you can get it off although I normally soak things to get the decoupage glue off, if you really wanted to remove it though, you could throw a wet hot towel over it, that would make the decoupage glue mushy and easy to remove. :)
