Hi Patty! You are such an inspiration! I love your work! Oh, and my name is Ivelisse lol This is a great idea. I actually figured out another way to do this using fabric. Thanks for the shout-out. 🙏❤

That was a great tip. I decoupaged a napkin on a metal tin, and it was like you said, it's kind of transparent. Beautiful jar. I love green, it's so fresh feeling.

Beautiful jar. Thanks for sharing that tip will definitely be trying it. I’ve tried spraying the back of the top layer with Krylon Fixatif then putting a light coat of paint on the back with a Fan Brush. It can be a “hit or miss” outcome depending on the quality of the napkin. I like your idea better. Until next week “coffee and Patti” enjoy your weekend. 👏👏😘🦋

@@patioelf wanted to let you know that I tried that tip with one of my 4th of July napkins. I was trying to put it on a decorative metal hanging can and realize that the background needed to be painted white, and just like that I had a PATTI moment and remembered that video. What a difference and so easy. I also shared that technique with a fellow crafter who asked about “ what to do about napkins on dark backgrounds when you don’t want to paint the background” PATTI to the rescue. Thanks my friend. 😘😘

This is AWESOM! You are sooooo creative and I really appreciate the time you take to "teach" all of your techniques. I need some advice....I don't know if others have a problem with decorated jars becoming sticky. I had to store my jars for 2 years because of Covid and now they are stuck to some of the newspaper I wrapped them with. I sprayed them with Krylon matte varnish and some with Triple Thick. Do you have a suggestion of what I could spray them with to eliminate this problem. I did not use Decoart decoupage on these. This was when I was starting out so I used the old brand. If you or anyone else has a suggestion, I am open to it. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Jeannie in Mojave

Hi there! and thank you....As soon as I read about your problem I knew exactly which brand you used. Isn't that crazy? Even when you top coat it -that stickiness still seems to get through...I'm really not sure how to get rid of that, I'm so sorry. Isn't that frustrating? I was hoping someone else reading the comments might see your question and respond with a trick they use to fix this. I don't see anything yet though. :)

I'm about to start a big important project, decopoging my bathroom floor! I was thinking of useing Elmer's and watter or to thin out mod podge, then use a oil base polyurethane sealer. I can put up the cash for a good decopog glue but covering a whole floor would that not just defeat my goal of a inexpensive bathroom floor? It is a tiny bathroom) and is summer the best time to do this project?

Wow, hello Ivy- I have a Facebook page if you're on FB called Patioelf, and I see questions there a lot sooner than I do here on YT. Did you decoupage the floor yet? MP is not a good choice especially in a room where there will be humidity. I just responded to a person who asked me why her decoupaged jars are so sticky when she used MP and varnish over them. Over the years I've discovered that for large projects and ones that may be out in the elements it's ok to use Titebond Ultimate wood glue. You would also want to cut that with a little water to thin it out a bit. Very strong stuff, waterproof, dries to a matte finish and you can add a good urethane over that . I would love to see your floor! If you're on FB please send me a picture of it. I also decoupaged my bathroom floor upstairs, so long ago that it's time to update it. Good luck!

@@patioelf no I have not started it yet. I'm not on Facebook. But I'll definitely look into doing it that way. My bathroom humidity is very low do to having a basment and all the humidity go's down and we use a large dehumidifier. However I still want it to last as long as possible. I am talking as much pictures and videos as possible this farm is our dream house.

Would freezer paper give same result? Eliminates the glue step.
