I wish more people would do live design critiques like this. This is gold dust for people wanting to learn. Please do more videos!!

Hi Alex, I recently bought your latest fusion 360 weapon deign tut. I am curious what is the operation for turning that into sub D ready mesh.. would you retopo all of that by hand or use some automated functions to help? Appreciate all the great work.

Would like to know also!

There is not very much that can be done automation-wise to get a sub-d ready mesh from a CAD file. There are auto retopology scripts out there but then mostly give crap results. Your best bet is to retopo/fix edge loops by hand.

Yes , you must do it manually, or use retop plugins, but you must adjuste the vertecies, edges ,and edgeflow after auto retopo...

You don't need to use a very hue or saturated color as red or orange on a weapon because this weapon will be used day and night, and if u use it at night, this kind of colors can attract the attention of enemies...I'm not a professional designer or 3d modeler but I always see that you speak about fonctionaliy, and a weapon with this color can't be fonctional...
