I think you can take this song however you feel tbh. Although the actual intention behind it is to represent the LGBT community and how much they feel that they need to hide their love because it's not always seen as "socially acceptable" no matter how much things are changing in that respect. Glad you enjoyed it though, I know you're not the biggest fan of the sadder stuff lol
