I was never more sympathetic to a Batman villain than I was to Mr Freeze. Devastating to see how he became what he did and the love that he lost. I was sad to see that he never got a happy ending, though if he did, it would not have been in keeping with this show's tone. Plus it was sad to see that by the end of the original show, he became nothing more than a head, though by Beyond they rectified that, he was still taken too far from what he was and was suited as, a broken scientist whose soft heart was turned to ice by a cruel cold world.

He-Man & Transformers got me my first steps into adventuring through life. This animated series got me through middle school and high school... then came Justice League and Batman Beyond in collage. I'd like to think these are small parts that shaped me as the person I am now.

I love how cartoons matured along with the kids who grew up with them. This series was a great follow up for kids who watched all of those great 80's shows.

Michael Mercy i have younger cousins who grew up with Sponge Bob like i did with Looney Tunes. When they got older, they were telling me about Avatar The Last Airbender and how they loved the storytelling like i did with Batman the Animated series. Now we all watch Clone Wars and the Walking Dead critiquing story points and visual direction. I still believe there are current shows that either talk down to kids or dont take them serious enough to do quality content, but there are still some out there that touch our hearts and capture our imagination... it's just fewer compared to years past

Great video, Michael! When I saw the listing in the TV guide, I was hyped to see one of those 60s or 70s Batman cartoons again. What I got instead, completely blew me away! I think this was my next stop after Turtles when it came to cartoons, toys, and comics. From the moment the intro rolled, I knew I was watching something very special. For me, this is - and always will be - the definitive Batman. Great picks for good episodes, too! Especially Two-Face and Heart of Ice. Two other favorites of mine are Perchance to Dream (my #1), in which Bruce wakes up to find that his parents are still alive and he never became Batman, and Night of the Ninja, which features flashbacks of Bruce's training in Japan.

This was an amazing turning point in tv animation history. It's legend and respect in time is only getting stronger and it will be remembered as one of the best and first of its kind.

Easily one of my top 5 favorite animated shows growing up. I couldn't wait to get home from school weekday afternoons to see if an old favorite episode was on, or maybe even one I hadn't seen before. Nice tribute BTW Mr Mercy.

My favorite episodes are Feat of Clay 1&2. So amazing! Adam West as the Gray Ghost is awesome too. Harley Quinn exists because of this animated series! Great vid.

I don't know if if read batman:knightfall first or if I watched the animated series first :D it kinda was almost all at once, coupled with the toy line by kenner and the first 2 Burton movies :D great video brother :D

it still holds up very good, still watch it. I like the darker DC movies compared too the Marvel movies. They are more unique and especially "Dark Knight" is amazing movie.
