If anyone does not know, these "Wierszalin" music videos refer to an orthodox religious sect operating in the 1920s and 1930s. Founded by an illiterate Orthodox peasant, Eliasz Klimowicz. He experienced an exceptionally severe religious mania, built his own church and declared himself the prophet Ilya. He founded the village of "Wierszalin", which he intended to be the capital of the world, i.e. the "New Jerusalem". It was the largest religious sect in Poland, characterized by the collective madness of its followers. On KZbin you will find a lot of interesting documents about the history of the prophet Elijah from Wierszalin and his sect. In addition, there is a Polish feature film about these events "The Story of the Prophet Eliasz from Wierszalin" (1997) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJbKXoaQpLOgn6s

This is the most Oriental sounding song on our new album. The beautiful monody that runs throughout the entire piece is deeply influenced by Greek and Romanian traditions, which are integral to Orthodoxy. In our new music, we aim to showcase different aspects of Orthodoxy. Just as the Prophet Ilja journeyed to Kronsztadt, we traveled far for musical inspiration to create a psalm in honor of the New Jerusalem that our prophet was building.
@marcinjaraszek17866 күн бұрын
@@Jerseyboondocks If you collaborated on this music video, I bow my head and bow low. You managed to find yourself on the same black metal shelf as the legendary summoning, which in turn takes us to the world of Tolkien. Your music is so fascinating that it inspired me to create a computer game using such Orthodox aesthetics. As for the Prophet Elijah, well, it's good that at least in this sect there were no such tragedies as in the religious sects known from the USA,(Jim Jones Peoples Temple or Heaven’s Gate) although some sources say that the followers really wanted to crucify Klimowicz...

The Russian word "патриарх" means "patriarch", i. e. the head of any of various Eastern churches. Most likely the misspelling ("патриархь" instead of "патриарх") comes from the band's attempt to write this word in Old Russian/Old Church Slavonic: "патриархъ" (a hard sign at the end, not soft). The way the band spells this word (патриархь), it should be pronounced "patriarch'."

The word is derived from Greek πατριάρχης (patriarchēs), meaning "chief or father of a family", a compound of πατριά (patria), meaning "family", and ἄρχειν (archein), meaning "to rule". Yes. Indeed.
