Patrice O’ Neal is such a hero to me in so many ways. His philosophies, his ideals, his honesty, the way he was basically set up for failure on that Charlie Sheen Roast, I remember watching that live in college! All us real comedy fans know, but he never got the due he deserved. He might have if he coulda been here longer. I wish I could hear his perspective today on the world so badly… Imagine seeing Patrice O’ Neal on JRE today. Patrice, man, we really miss you.

Patrice was just too uncomfortable with the phoniness of Hollywood. He didn't know how to just relax & not be so overly defensive. He was very paranoid of fame & he would self sabotage quite a bit. He's an interesting one. As much as he is perceptive of some things, his take on the roast was weird. How it was a lot of mean stuff, like being a child molester or eight abortions. The roasts are always like that, and a lot of shitty comics only try to be the edgiest in the room.
