Aww those pictures of him as a kid. As someone who loves Patrice, i actually really appreciated seeing his mother, sister, stepdaughter, and non-comic friends in this. You'd hear stories that would crack you up about all these people over the years, and it was nice to finally put a face to them. You can really see him in his mother and sister. I'm happy Patrice has gotten so much respect over the years since his passing. It's the least he deserves

Bro. Bill burr and Kevin hart will forever have my respect for how they handle the memory of Patrice O’Neal. I see Dante with Godfrey nowadays but he’s doing him. Even von holds it down.
@jefftass7684
@jefftass7684 Ай бұрын
Yes, very good and unselfish of Bill to make this film, but unfortunately he let his wife dictate the intentional omission of any of Patrice’s years on the Opie and Anthony Show, which is where he really homed in on his perspectives about relationships…they even gave him the Black Phillip Show which was his answer to Dr. Phil. It was during these years that he began to shine, let go of his anger towards Hollywood and discover what made he, himself tick. Her specific anger was with Anthony Cumia and his racial perspectives. I don’t disagree with her rightful anger, but I think it was ultimately a disservice to omit the most fertile years in entertainment and ultimately leaves out a huge part of his story and personality. Patrice and Anthony had no issues with each other…in fact, Patrice had said many times that Cumia was the funniest person that he had ever known…so you can see the odd omission here. Thankfully, everything I spoke about is available on the internet to hear and it is in those moments that he is alive and vital again. this particular project, although poignant and sensitive, is more like an overdue eulogy. I am grateful for its production, but it made me profoundly sad and I don’t expect to watch it again. but in those other available programs, he is alive, introspective, brutally honest and his perspectives are more wise and more relevant now than ever before. I miss this genius.

I knew Patrice only on Opie and Anthony for years and years. I had satellite radio on my desk and all I did all day was look at Pap smears under the microscope all day, everyday while listening to radio. Patrice was the most truthful person I have ever heard. He kept such a grudge and recognized injustices to ALL people . He straight out went against injustice to his own detriment. Such respect.

If anybody needed a documentary, it's Patrice. RIP P.S. One of my most favorite jokes from him the receipts one, I took it to heart. I hold my damn receipts, too.

Patrice, Carlin and Louie CK. My top three by far. I wish Patrice didnt go so soon. What a loss that was. Always remembered as a funny ass truth teller and never sold out to bs business assholes.

There is no denying Patrice was rough around the edges, but he was damn authentic and brilliantly funny. Also the words of his stepdaughter were really touching. He was also a good man.

Dying at 41 because you can't stop stuffing your face with oreos is hilarious. So was he.

What's hilarious is that we sell drugs to children and call it candy. Then we think it's hilarious when people die far too early from an addiction. Thank you FDA! Allowing drugs to be considered food since their inception. Protecting us from knowing better... and here we have comedy legends getting taken out way too early because people have virtually no access to truth and he accelerated his own death by going vegan, guessing that that would save him... the opposite is true...

I remember shortly after Patrice died. I was speaking to my adult daughter and I said I just can't believe he's gone. And her always the rationalist, said Mom, he had type 1 diabetes and lived on a diet of Oreo cookies and chicken wings! How long did you expect him to last? I said... forever. And he will. Rest in power king!
