Aww those pictures of him as a kid. As someone who loves Patrice, i actually really appreciated seeing his mother, sister, stepdaughter, and non-comic friends in this. You'd hear stories that would crack you up about all these people over the years, and it was nice to finally put a face to them. You can really see him in his mother and sister. I'm happy Patrice has gotten so much respect over the years since his passing. It's the least he deserves

Bro. Bill burr and Kevin hart will forever have my respect for how they handle the memory of Patrice O’Neal. I see Dante with Godfrey nowadays but he’s doing him. Even von holds it down.
@jefftass7684Ай бұрын
Yes, very good and unselfish of Bill to make this film, but unfortunately he let his wife dictate the intentional omission of any of Patrice’s years on the Opie and Anthony Show, which is where he really homed in on his perspectives about relationships…they even gave him the Black Phillip Show which was his answer to Dr. Phil. It was during these years that he began to shine, let go of his anger towards Hollywood and discover what made he, himself tick. Her specific anger was with Anthony Cumia and his racial perspectives. I don’t disagree with her rightful anger, but I think it was ultimately a disservice to omit the most fertile years in entertainment and ultimately leaves out a huge part of his story and personality. Patrice and Anthony had no issues with each other…in fact, Patrice had said many times that Cumia was the funniest person that he had ever known…so you can see the odd omission here. Thankfully, everything I spoke about is available on the internet to hear and it is in those moments that he is alive and vital again. this particular project, although poignant and sensitive, is more like an overdue eulogy. I am grateful for its production, but it made me profoundly sad and I don’t expect to watch it again. but in those other available programs, he is alive, introspective, brutally honest and his perspectives are more wise and more relevant now than ever before. I miss this genius.
