Patrice was amazing. I didn't discover the bulk of his work until his passing, but I'm glad I at least got a taste and knew of him enough to watch this when it came out before he died. Just started getting into O & A, knew some of his previous work... but yo. No other special like it. Killing Them Softly (Chapelle, who could have 2-3 entries in the top 5), Thrilled (Tom Segura), etc, Elephant in the Room stands alone. Most comedians, you're hoping your career specials might be a .650+ on base percentage and you'll have 4-5 home runs. Patrice was hitting game 7 grand slam, ticker tape, bottom of the 9th, down 3, 2 out, moonshots with every swing of the bat. Diverse material, well constructed, flowed well, improv'd and fed off the audience and the set dressers. Genuinely brilliant special and a crown jewel in his career no matter what he ever did or would have done, he made Elephant in the Room. Crystalline real performance here.

He makes a good point about typing. In grade 9 we had to take typing. It was 1980 and we were still using manuals. I was catching on pretty quick, so the teacher wanted to move me to an electric at the front of the class. I wanted no part of being the best male typist in my grade so I declined for fear of being called gay and the accompanying bullying. Now I am a slow two finger search and pecker on the keyboard.

People say Patrice O'Neal would have been cancelled, but I don't think these people know him well. Patrice had enormous empathy and was very understanding of the suffering of people. He would absolutely be Woke. He was already Woke; just listen to his points about racism and inequality.
