I think that her case against Sickert is very solid. The amount of research she has done is extraordinary.

Except that it's not exactly her case. It's the theory of Stephen Knight.
@ajs41 Жыл бұрын
Sickert had a book published in 1899 with photos of the murders. He used these for some of his paintings. That's the explanation, not that he actually committed the murders.

Patricia Cornwall makes a good case against Sickert, she is a very intelligent women who has done a lot of research, I think she has built a good case against Sickert.

The only thing Patricia Cornwell has built is supporting evidence for a theory that existed before she came along. This is Stephen Knight's theory, it doesn't belong to Patricia Cornwell.

There is no case at all and she destroyed two important British works of art in her attempt to prove her stupid theory, Vandal,

One of those artworks was already damaged and in the process of investigating she actually repaired and saved the work.

I have become a great skeptic in my old age.. But this woman puts for a logical and possible answer.. I have enjoyed her novels but always steered clear of her Jack the ripper and one other one because of my cinisium. But now I think I will get that novel and read it.. thanks PAt for all of your good writing..

Not a fan of Patricia, but her research is sound. I believe she has proved conclusively that Walter Sickert is Jack The Ripper.

another interesting tidbit: Dr. Thomas Horrocks Openshaw, Curator of the Pathology Museum (London) in 1887 who also worked at the Whitechapel London Hospital during the time of the murders received a letter from Jack The Ripper on October 29, 1888. the handwriting of this letter is an exact match with the handwriting of the "From Hell" letter received earlier. this is an important clue.
@terry63lee6 ай бұрын
my personal analysis of the handwriting makes me believe that these letters were written by a child, perhaps 12-year-old Aleister Crowley. Dr. Robert D. Stephenson and Walter Sickert would have asked young Aleister to write these letters in order to give him an extra sense of accomplishment which would boost is little Satanical ego into becoming even more evil. there are dozens and dozens of possibilities and theories which might explain these possibilities. i am not 100% sure of anything except that Jack The Ripper did not want to be caught by the police, unlike with some serial killers who actually want to get caught. Jack The Ripper was meticulous and methodical in his modus operandi. his knowledge of the Secret Rights of Freemasonry (Jubelo, Jubela, and Jubelum) can only mean he was a well-educated man; this was not common knowledge and no poor people were allowed to become members. the only one exception to this rule was Pamela Coleman Smith, who despite being from a poor family and being a woman, was allowed to join the Hermetic Order Of The Golden Dawn; in addition, she worked for Sir Henry Irving as a background decorator at his theater (the Lyceum Theater), and was also a friend of Bram Stoker, who was Irving's business partner at the theater. Sir Henry Irving was also a Freemason. some believe that Bram Stoker was good friends with W.B. Yeats who was also a member of the Hermetic Order Of The Golden Dawn. i am at my wits end trying to figure out all of these various coincidences. i have decided (here) to stop my investigation. 🦇🦇🦇🦇the end

I will give Patricia Cornwell credit. She has had some success in finding supporting evidence for Stephen Knight's theory on Walter Sickert. But right or wrong, let's not forget who's theory it really is.
@Jay-tk7ib7 жыл бұрын
Had you done a little research, you'd know that Stephen Knight has been dead for many years. And this shows the real problem in all this. People talk without knowing the subject they speak of. Go learn about the case and all the players, and then come back and talk.
@Vanadisir6 жыл бұрын
I'm sure he will be glad there is someone alive with the cash flow to continue looking into his theory after he has passed. The point is naming the scum who did this to the women on the streets, not the claim to fame or who was first. Which is besides the point anyway, you and others have pointed out Stephen Knight, so it's hardly a secret that it was a theory he produced. Mute point.
