I never understood what Jack the Ripper meant by "that joke about leather apron gave me real fits" until I learned that there was a guy who lived in the area, a bootmaker named John Pizer and nicknamed "Leather Apron" who was reported to have threatened several prostitutes and was being considered as a suspect for the murders. He was arrested, but had alibis for all the murders up till then. So basically in his letter Jack the Ripper was saying "you thought it was *that* guy?! Lol"

They could’ve also looked at the color of the blood, as it gets darker when it clots. But there are a lot of factors to consider including the surface (blood clots quicker on a rough surface and oily surfaces make the blood clot slower than it would on a smooth or clean surface) Also when someone dies, their blood pressure tanks to zero and they stop bleeding which can help determine if they were stabbed to death and died quickly or if they were laying there bleeding for a while before they died.

Historians apparently believed the letter read very American, which is interesting. Another thought I had was that it could be a medical student who is using people he perceives won't be missed as practice subjects. It's hard to say, though, because the last victim was killed in her home where the most damage was done, but before it was hastily done within half an hour. The wombs apparently aren't easy to find, but they were removed. The lighting was bad at night because they didn't have electrical street lamps, so how could they so accurately cut the body to remove certain organs and why? Were they selling the organs? Eating them? What? I have so many questions.
@jessiemacon66153 ай бұрын

No one is free of sin according to Christianity, and Christians acting all high and mighty doesn’t make it any easier for the people with real problems who have to make hard calls like turning to prostitution to survive. On top of that, sin does not make murder okay. The deaths of these women were still tragedies! Not to mention, several of them weren’t even actual prostitutes and were instead labeled as that incorrectly. It is people like you who make the idea of Christianity so unappealing to so many people. Next time you think you’re so high and mighty and above sin, think about how often you break the same rules you have decided all people must live by. You are not free of sin, because no one is, and being sinful does not make someone any less human, it does not make them any less deserving of respect, it does not make them any less deserving of a full and happy life. Interestingly, a professor I once had told us that the police always knew it was Aaron Kosminski. He (my professor) claimed to have visited the Crime Museum of Scotland Yard, which is not open to the public and is only accessible by invitation. There he learned that Scotland Yard actually had solved the case: Aaron Kosminski had contracted syphilis from one of the local prostitutes, problem is, he couldn't remember which one. Worse, late stage syphilis can cause insanity, especially if not treated. They stipulate that he basically went on a rampage and killed any prostitute he thought could have been the one that passed him the syphilis. The reason they covered it up is interesting: Kosminski was a Polish Jewish immigrant and the police feared that if this was made to be public, there would be war on the streets with people harassing the Polish/Jewish neighbourhoods. So they covered it up, and the reason they continued to just let it play out as an unsolved case is simple enough: tourism revenue from people who are interested in the "Jack the Ripper" tales.

I love the theory that Jack the Ripper was actually a woman and a midwife. It would explain the anatomical knowledge that the killer had of the female body, and it would also explain how she could move around freely and undetected. Because of the way society treated women in those days, with the whole "women can't do anything," it could be safe to assume that there were no female suspects because they believed that a woman could not carry out these murders. I think that this is a really interesting idea and hope that one day, they can prove it right. Edit: It would also be easier for her to kill these women. If she walked towards a woman at night, then the victim might not think much of it and it would be easier to get closer to them to kill fast and undetected.

I always had a weird feeling about the gingerbeer bottle sentence… wouldn’t MOST people know that blood congeals and wouldn’t be functional as an ink substitute? Let alone a doctor, butcher, midwife…
@krishashah3661 Жыл бұрын
While that is definitely weird, it's not confirmed if the letters were actually from the killer, in which case the writer of the letters not knowing about the blood thickening makes sense.

If you’re interested in the true story of the victims of Jack the ripper, please read The Five: The untold lives of the women killed by jack the ripper. Its a really interesting, complex and humane view of the women who were killed, and to this day, have no justice for the atrocites that were comitted against them. And I wanna add that its a lie that all five of them were sexual workers, only one of them indentified herself as one and even if all of them were sexual workers, its not an excuse for the terribles lives and deaths they had. They deserved much much better.

@johnny63ism2 жыл бұрын
Also most of them had troubled marriages, were not living with their husbands and women that time had no education and finding jobs was difficult. Even if they were sex workers they had a good excuse. They need to pay for rooms and food and they had children as well

Thank you for sharing this information. I recently came across Hallie Rubenhold's book and remembered watching this video a few years ago and I came here to say exactly what you did. There's also a really good, long video about the murders that is incredibly victim-centered on the Debunk File youtube channel. They also discuss potential suspects, but it is much more focused on the victims and their lives leading up to murders than Jack at all. This is no shade to the ghoul boys, Rubenhold's book didn't come out until 2019, but we really need to challenge this narrative that they were all just sex workers.

Another cool theory was H.H. Holmes (Herman Webster Mudgett), he was an American Serial Killer during the Jack The Ripper time period. Holmes was believed to of been in Great Britain during the Jack The Ripper murders. Also H.H. Holmes had surgical skills that he obtained from Medical School and he also looks very similar if not identical to Jack The Ripper sketches. If you wanna know something even weirder, handwriting samples from Holmes and Jack The Ripper procured a 97% match.
@mimi_imfat Жыл бұрын
Yeah this is great theory except H.H. Holmes was actually a doctor so i doubt he didn't know that blood would clot and you couldn't write with it. Unless that letter is fake i find it hard to believe they were the same people. I don't think JTP was a doctor but had knowledge of the human anatomy somehow.

"Jack" was a police officer, the commissioner resigned after realizing that the ripper himself was a police officer. Either the commissioner resigned as he was too distraught and hurt that one of his own men was responsible for the murder, or he wanted to avoid an embarrassing ordeal that would've tainted his name, was afraid that if he spoke out he'd be the next victim, or he was forced to resign via threat from the ripper. There are some theories that say that the commissioner was the ripper but I doubt it due to lack of evidence. All I can make of this is that he was most definitely a police officer.

The one thing that definitely makes me think it wasn't actually a doctor is the way they commented in the letter about the blood getting too thick to write with. A doctor or a butcher would know that blood would thicken after being out of the body for a while. That is if the letters were actually written by the actual killer
@vinodkumar-ox2cv6 жыл бұрын
I don't know if anyone else noticed but the letter mentioned that he stored the blood in a bottle to write with it later. Any person (even a midwife), with the slightest of anatomical knowledge (or even general knowledge about human body), would have known that the blood would clot. therefore, it seems that the killer did not have any anatomical knowledge.
@missundies6 жыл бұрын
