Unbelievable that, in this concert, she was only 17 years old and yet shows such maturity of voice, self-confidence and and acting ability. I first heard her singing when I chanced on the ‘In Memoriam’ by the end of which I was in floods of tears. Why am I a grumpy old man of 80 when this beautiful lady was taken away at the age of just 25. Tragic.

Patricia performed this song when she was 18 years old... (She trained for around ten years, if I'm not wrong). Unfortunately, this month she lost her battle against breast cancer 🎗️ at the age of 25... She was very talented and passionate about her singing career, as you can tell in this performance. I'm so sad, she's no longer in this world. Rest in peace, Patricia 💐

Unfortunately, Patricia died yesterday (1st October 2023) after a two -year fight with breast cancer. She was only 25 years old.

I certainly agree with your comments. She has an unusual gift to make high notes appear extremely easy--even more accomplishment knowing that she recently underwent a somewhat serious bout with breast cancer. Incidentally, her name is pronounced Pa-TRIT-see-a Yan-ESH-co-VA. She is my favorite soprano.

I came back after two months to watch your reaction to Mein Herr Marquis again, and it was well worth it. I Much as I loved watching and hearing her sing, I also loved the expression on your face, perhaps of joy, as you enjoyed her performance. You asked us to comment on who is our favourite soprano, and my favourite is this young lady Patricia Janeckova, followed closely by the even younger Amira Willighagen, whom I believe you have also reacted to. Great reaction! I love your enjoyment of her singing and her acting as well. It is my understanding that she is currently studying opera in Ostrava, Czechia, where she lives. It would seem that her goal is to be a real opera singer, rather than just a good soprano singer that sings opera arias and other classical songs. I think that is why she can amaze us with her ability to sing these difficult arias flawlessly while still doing all of the appropriate acting complete with facial expressions and gestures. I would love to see more Patricia Janeckova reactions from you. Well done!

Some context: she's playing Adele, Gabriel and Rosalinda's maid, who escapes to a party and pretends to be Olga, an artist. There she meets her master Gabriel, who is also in the party pretending to be someone else, in this case, a Marquis. When "the Marquis" tells "Olga" that she reminds him of his maid, she answers me? With this elegance and this beauty? A simple maid? Oh, mein Herr Marquis, you make me laugh! (Obviously, Rosalinda is also in the party, also in disguise. Basically, a party where none of them should be and nonetheless are)

I saw it quite a few times. SHE WAS ABOUT 14 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. What I particularly liked was the reaction of the bunch of girls in the final round of the beauty contest sharing the stage with her. From their facial expressions you could see that they realized the real winner is Patricia.

My mother sung this when I was young. She had singing lessons and I would play under the piano and play with a dinkey toy. To me it sounded just as good as Patricia sings it now. My grandparents didn't let her study at the conservatory because she would have to live in the big city. Another favorit from this operetta of Johann Strauss is: Klänge der Heimat. Patricia is my favorite currently active soprano, and one who is young and still improving, incredibly, but my all time favorite would have to be Maria Callas. There are so many great ones: Edda Moser, Lucia Popp, Beverly Sills, and so many more that it's impossible to list them all. To me I sounded exactly they way Patricia sings it. I saw a premiere of the Fledermaus some years ago in Berlin. Still love this Operette. "Klänge der Heimat" is also from the same Operette from Johann Strauss, and one of my favorites.
