Superb performance delivered with a great sense of freedom and space, all with an improvisational feel. There is a real evocative jeux in the way the duo communicate this extraordinary piece!

A masterpiece brought to its resounding glory! It mesmerizes me how alive she can sound in a recording!!! I can’t imagine what it is to see her play live... She’s the perfect balance between intuition, intelligence and audacity. How can words convey true meaning? Pat Kop represents humanity at its best...

Simply phenomenal - it's all in there: reticence as well as rashness, the brute and the butterfly... performed with such taste and dedication; how wonderfully Thanks, thanks!

I love the recording of Yehudi and Hepzibah Menuhin from the late '60s. But this one is also brilliant. Bravi!

Almost close as the composer himself. Can't lie. Even Menuhin's recording's as rivaled as this. It's a very difficult piece, because you can play it so many ways that it won't be just as authentic as Enescu himself playing it. However, it's very down to the gypsy/Magyar feeling that it's supposed to be. I even studied it, and had to interpret this about close to five ways until I found which one suited me the most. Every way to play this is like like another book opened to read, and still it's not enough until the right one fits best. One of my favorite pieces to play/listen.

Aristotle Stathatos It's important to be convincing not authentic. Music has to live and breathe, it can do it through people and every person is different.

You mean romanian gypsies. How can you even bring up magyars?

do you have sheet music?? I would be forever grateful 🙏

@@dominoplay3712 When I searched several months ago, the only sheet music I found for this cost over 75 USD plus tax, then available from Pender Music Co. in Houston.

Patricia played more intensity, compare with, ..while Yehudi Menuhin whoes recording more sentimental ,comperament, with ture feeling as homage to his once teacher, Enescu who merit within

Interesting interpretation, but has none of the fire of the composer's 1943 recording or the later Yehudi Menuhin version. That's a very noticeable missing component!
@michaelredmond90385 жыл бұрын
Oh I hear *lots* of fire, especially in the Andante. I hear major influence of lăutari style, totally appropriate here.
