Even if I'm Spanish, I preferred playing it in English just because of the voices. Translation was wrong in some times, but I really really liked the voice acting.

I've still never understood why so many people hate her voice acting. She really brings Princess Zelda to life, IMO. She really sold the crying scene for me and I started crying myself. Again, if you hate her voice acting for some reason, it's your opinion. IMO, her voice acting was great. People say that she should've used her normal voice, but that's a horrible idea. People say that the voice she did for Zelda sounds too old, but she makes herself sound younger than she is. Her normal voice is too old for Zelda. Why are people saying that she sounds too old and should've used her normal voice when it probably would've made you hate Zelda's voice more.

For me, it's just her british accent sounds too fake. I know Nintendo probably told her to do the british accent, but I don't know if they gave her good direction, or if they even have her direction at all... I don't hate her though. She seems like a nice person it's just she's one of the weaker voices in Breath of the Wild, which is really a shame since she's in the most cutscenes. But I do think in some ways, she's improved in her voice acting since then. In that Age of Calamity trailer, her line where she says "I must save... Everyone!" Sounded really good, and full of sincere emotion. Much better than her voice acting in BotW imo.

You can somewhat tell that Link's voice throughout most of the games in Japanese. Like, when he falls down a pit, he doesn't go, "AAAAAHHH!" -- He goes, "UUUWAAAA!" But beyond just getting used to it, you come to expect and appreciate it, so fully voicing him in English would change the feel of the game to a surprising extent even when Link isn't talking. (At least until you got used to it again.) He was a commoner, so he wouldn't have the same accent as Zelda. I've always got the impression that he's quite laid back, although the games show him being very serious as well.

This incarnation of Zelda is probably the best character I’ve ever known in a game! Thank you so much for doing such a good job with the role Patricia Summersett! She completely came alive for me in this game beyond how she had in previous titles and really really moved me with the arch of her story. And her accent was so good; I was certain that a Welsh young actress had been given the role by the sound of it (Rhoam sounds Welsh too)...Zelda brings so much of what is excellent in this game to it. She had depth and facets and I was driven-driven!-to get to the castle to save her from her misery as soon as possible when I played through the first time. Ocarina of Time Zelda was also very good, as was Skyward Sword’s, but this game’s incarnation takes first-prize. Looking forward so much to seeing the reprise in BotW 2!

Why does everyone think she's awful as Princess Zelda? I love her voice acting, she fits perfectly to Zelda from Breath of the Wild who just isn't the usual cute pink princess. She's better than for example this extremly high japanese voice which I think is truly awful, maybe would be good for Toon Zelda but definitly not for the more serious and sometimes almost "depressed" BotW Zelda.

Honestly, when it comes to the voice acting in that game, she's the crown jewel Zora girl is so quiet, I can't tell what she's saying; King Hyrule is obviously an American who doesn't have a clue what makes an English accent (can't even pronounce his own name correctly); the Gerudoes are supposed to pronounce the letter R as a standard R like in Arabic (and Latin, Japanese, Icelandic, etc) rather than an English/German R. That's specifically only for Gerudoan words and names, which is fine and makes sense, but they made a mess out of it: "Nabooru" gets a standard R, but "Urbosa" doesn't, and then "Gerudo" does sometimes, but then other times it doesn't...

About first time having full acting in The Legend of Zelda... 24 years ago (1994), the OST for A Link to the Past had a 17-minute audio drama (In Japanese of course). And 14 years ago (2004), Navi Trackers (a game mode in Four Swords Adventures that was removed for the English release) had full voice acting. It was the same cast that voiced the characters in The Wind Waker. So this is the second time a Zelda GAME has had full voice acting. Tho the first time for an English-speaking audience. :)

I don’t know why so many people hate Zelda’s voice in BotW. Although it wasn’t perfect, it was pretty good and it fit Zelda’s personality in the game.
