Your journey sounds so similar to mine. I didn't even make it to Uni, but did the whole work up the ladder, studied accountancy on the side, quit one job, went into accountancy for just over a year (hated it). Left and literally started a completely different journey in marketing as an intern. Imagine leaving a solid salary for £30 a day 😭😫 I did it and within two years I was running a team and managing two departments. Left after 3 years...now I run my own media publication 💃🏽🙋🏽 Take no passengers - do what you LOVE, life is far too short to not chase the dream. I did all of that while raising our little bubba...then we added two more bubbas to the team lol. I'm happy - confident - found my feet and honestly wouldn't do it differently. I took big risks, but I knew I'd work my ass off! Just go for it - with EVERYTHING and don't overlook internships, they're gold!!!

Patricia, I'm so glad you made this video. I'm right there in that spot. I'm 32 and have been considering a career and lifestyle change for years. I think it's time for me to fail and fail fast. I'm also in a relationship and was wondering how you stay so grounded in who you are and what you (as a singular individual) are about. I think somewhere along the way I've let bits and pieces of myself go. Now I'm in a space of rediscovery and it's difficult.

I'm in the US & started working when I was a senior in high school. I never went to college but I ended up at a job when I was 22 in a mostly male driven industry. I've been at this company now for 16 years & probably know more about the business than most of the men. It was never a job I thought I wanted but it works for me. I learn all I can to make myself better each day. My advice to younger people is just get out there & start somewhere, you never know where it will lead! Love your videos Patricia! I hesitate to say this because I really don't support negative comments, but I will say it is just amazing to see a KZbinr that went to school and worked very hard in the regular ole workforce before choosing to pursue a job on this platform. I don't think everyone needs uni or corporate jobs, but having a young woman whom clearly committed herself to the idea that you get what you put in, that most people are not going to be handed what they want, it must be earned by doing the work, that's a message all the young adult viewers here can benefit from. I see comments on many different channels stating they wished they had what the creator had, or maybe thinking that these multimillion subscriber youtubers don't really have to work hard to have all those amazing things. Maybe that is true for some, but this is a great example of the steps it took just to get to this platform, let alone the work needed to make a real living off making videos.
