Patrick, and others, in a Will Hay documentary. 1976.

Patrick features (briefly) in a documentary about Will Hay, recorded by Ronnie Barker, in 1976. Hay was a member of the BAA until his death in 1949, when Patrick, a very keen member, was just 26. Hay famously discovered a White Spot on Saturn in 1933, just before his main film era started. Patrick only features in this broadcast between 9 and 12 minutes, but it is an interesting programme in its own right. For more about Hay I would strongly recommend Graham Rinaldi's excellent biography 'Will Hay'. Thanks to Bob Marriott for alerting me to the existence of this recording.

Wonderful piece of nostalgia. Two of my all time favourites in Will Hay and Ronnie Barker. Also great to hear some lovely stories about Will, Moore and Graham. Thanks for posting this.

We must judge all comics by the period when they were popular most of the better ones never did T V as it was not invented Max Miller very clever gag teller Will Hay George Formby lots of these like Charlie Chaplin, were ahead of their times How can you compare some over paid Twitt like Jimmy Carr with any of these Rob Wilton did some film sketches RONNIE BARKER a very funny comedy Actor probably one of the best of the last century

Haven't watched much Jimmy Carr but I'm sure you could make comparisions. And alot of the comedies from the 1930s were poor. Arthur Askey, the Crazy Gang and Lucan and Mcshane make for slow viewing now. Hay was incredible though
