I have to add to watch Patrick convey such emotion shows you what an amazing an actor Jason Thompson is. Kimberly and him talk about emotional tears I think they call them, while you’re really invested in the scene. The fact that Jason and Kimberly have not had any scenes together in almost 9 months that he can bring such emotion watching a video... what a connection they share

What's frustrating about this is that it hasn't even been a year yet since Robin 'died'. It's quite normal for spouses to wait a year to two to sometimes three before they are completely comfortable moving on to someone else and they find what they need in their children and in their family. Patrick had what he needed in Emma and those who loved him and they should have left that alone.

xxwhispersxx I agree. I think though and the writers minds they thought Patrick needed a mother for Emma. I never understood why Sabrina she seemed so naïve and young. I would’ve picked Elizabeth or Sam.

ITA. It took me 2 yrs to get over my b/f dying and even now I still have issues with his death. I chalk it up to it being a soap and they needed to put him with someone

@@rosanneperkins9516 Robin changed him and made him a better person, but I agree,he wouldn't go for someone that young or naive. He went from being a player to falling for Robin and having empathy, but I don't see him falling for someone who wasn't a strong personality

I know a lot of people didn’t like Brit but she held her own with Patrick, better than Sabrina and she seem to understand what Patrick was going through. the loss of his wife. She didn’t have to get pregnant, they could’ve just been there for each other and then maybe see what happens.

She wanted Patrick all for herself, she didn't like Emma and you don't mess with a father & his baby girl.

@@sarahswomley2580 That was the writers doing that, because they wanted to make sure that Miss Disney princess, the ugly duckling turn swan Sabrina, caught Patrick’s eye. And Emma was being a brat, she was grieving I do understand that... but one of the scenes when Patrick and Brit were sitting on the couch at Christmas time watching that movie was so sweet

@@rosanneperkins9516 I felt she had her own agenda and she went after Sabrina when she was talking about Jason, but didn't say a word in the beginning b/c it was obvious Patrick and Elizabeth were friends and hearing Elizabeth argue back at Patrick, she knew Elizabeth could hold her own w/Brit when at the time Sabrina was too mousy, insecure and backed down

@@renealexander2703 I didn't like either. Both were unbelievable to me IMO. The way Britt treated Emma was awful and she was manipulative and Sabrina was too innocent and easy prey. I'm glad they kept Elizabeth and Patrick as friends, but she would be a better match against Britt as she can get snarky when she needs to

I really wish they would have gone with him and Elizabeth rather than putting him with who they did. I am sure everyone knows who I mean at this point but just in case someone who hasn't followed GH or this storyline comes across it and falls in love with Robin and Patrick the way all the rest of us did, I will not name her. Elizabeth and him were friends and she would have understood when Robin came back that that is where Patrick belonged. She wouldn't have given it a second thought. She also wouldn't have expected him to take of his ring so quickly or marry so quickly. I know it wasn't really that quick since Robin had been died over a year, but he still seemed like he forced himself to fall in love and forced himself to take off the ring and even if Robin hadn't come back, I just don't know that the relationship would have lasted. As sweet as she is/was I don't think she was ever right for Patrick. They knew from the start it was going to be a place holder for Robin so why try and make the viewers fall in love with her and Patrick. I know it is a soap and that is what they do, but I just wish they hadn't.

I kind of agree. I could never get behind him and Sabrina. Maybe I was just too attached to him and Robin but it didn't work for me. I thought they were teasing him and Elizabeth and I think didn't Jason say he was pushing for Elizabeth as well? I thought I read a blurb somewhere where he said he wanted that instead of Sabrina. Eh Idk.

***** I think it would have worked much better for Elizabeth's character because they absolutely destroyed her with the ridiculous she knows Jake's Jason storyline. I would have loved to have seen her and Patrick.

azbred Something I noticed when I just rewatch the scene where Robin comes back from the dead, is the fact that Patrick is having a hard time at the altar and marrying Sabrina saying I do, so I think he knew. I did understand the writers reason to have him need time to figure this out whether it was Robin or Sabina because he didn’t want to hurt anybody. I always will love the scene with him and Sam where Sam basically told him he knows what’s in his heart.

Why Elizabeth would even think that Patrick would be good with Sabrina boggles my mind. Sabrina is so naïve, so innocent, almost virginal. she could not hold her own with somebody like Patrick in the long run. nobody would ever replace Robin. no one ever expected that maybe that’s why they set him up with Sabrina. because she would be easy enough for him to walk away from when Robin came back..

I love these scenes - Jason Thompson emits so much emotion without saying a word! - but I am really bothered by the line, "My HIV is back." HIV never goes away, and it's dangerous to make it sounds like it's the chicken pox or something - just some illness that can go away. For a show that did so unbelievably well in telling stories about people with HIV/AIDS (Stone!!), this is an incredibly irresponsible scripting choice, especially given that younger generations who might be watching might not have as much knowledge about the virus.

+ashli674 No because HIV also doesn't "flare up" - in her case, her meds (along with back up drug protocols) weren't working, so she believed her HIV was becoming drug-resistant. And when medication can no longer control the virus, that is the point in which a lot of people's HIV begins to progress to AIDS. They should have had her say that her meds weren't working instead of using language that confuses the audience about the realities of HIV.

I’m confused by this video. Isn’t the reason Robin is not with Patrick and Emma in this Christmas is because she was supposedly blown up in the lab? I know she’s really alive but did she sneak into the house and put this video there for him to see?

Rosanne Perkins Christmas 2011 she thought her meds were failing so she made this vid and put it in her stocking. The stocking fell and Paddy found the DVD. You can see that in the previous day’s episode.

Sarah M Sekac so when Patrick sees this video it’s Christmas 2012 after robin died or as we know not really dead? She put in her own stocking not his? I am confused if she made this video thinking she would not be with them the following Christmas, why would she put something for a yr later to find?. The whole s/l after robin died and Patrick is so grief stricken is so hard for me to watch...especially since they had just gotten back after the whole 2 yr Lisa niles mess or close to it.

Rosanne Perkins yeah...the clip in your link was leading right up to him cheating and I think a lot of Scrubs fans agree that the writers were writing him out of character at the time. When Robin and Pat first met he was a totally ladies man but even that Patrick (and the one Robin married) would NEVER cheat. That was just never who he was. So....the one who messed around with Lisa is not the same character we’ve been watching.
