I carry a PR4 with me alongside a Glock everywhere I go. I've gutted deer, skinnedsquirrels, rabbits, etc and used it as a general cutting tool and is hands down one of the best knives and knife designs I've ever purchased. I will own multiple throughout my life no doubt.

I still don't understand why you have an axe when you have a folding saw? Instead of the axe I'd pack a big knife (like a Cold Steel Trail Master). With a saw and a big knife one can process all wood sizes to meet your outdoor needs. An axe is too limited - basically one can chop with it, and a light axe like the one in the video doesn't even do that well! With properly cut wedges (with the Trail Master referred to above) one can split any logs you can cut with the folding saw. So why pack an axe?
@RandallsAdventureESEE Жыл бұрын
It is all a matter of personal preference and we don't pack the same thing on ever trip as an absolute. Whatever mission or trip we have planned dictates what we carry.. no absolutes here.
@dennisleighton2812 Жыл бұрын
@@RandallsAdventureESEE Agreed! The needs of a fixed camp, a semi-permanent one and being mobile will mean that different equipment will be necessary. Some KZbinrs tend to forget to clarify the circumstances when discussing such matters. I also often fall into this trap. Thanks for the response, and the reminder!

Crusty_ Otter Patrick has quite a collection. Love the look of the Ship Builders and Goshawk but that are both significantly heavier than the Med Camp. I’ve found it to be very versatile and I went with the longer handle. Great hawk by a great company for sure.

Leatherman Wave+, J.Henry. 25yr warranty & made in Portland Oregon. (And if you're on a budget & you want a bigger/tougher knife than what's on the Leatherman, look at a Mora Black knife. ***Thousands of great reviews on this Swedish made beast of a blade. Only $50 too! I've beaten & abused mine for 10yrs now & it's still an old faithful solid work horse. $100 will get you the Esee PR4, a USA made knife & leather sheath. One of these knives & the Leatherman would be a nice set for your vehicle.)
