Thank you for your continued support of our channel! 🌍 As our audience spans across the globe, we aim to create content that resonates with viewers from diverse backgrounds. You may notice that in some parts of the video, 'Patrick Roy' is pronounced as 'Roy' instead of the traditional 'Rwá' or 'Wah.' Patrick Roy is the best goalie of the modern era. Excellent video.

Roy was the big game goalie. Clutch. Mentally strong. Ridiculously competitive. Only player to win 3 Conn Smythe. They should rename the award after him one day. This is all coming from a guy that watched his entire career... and rooted for him to fail.

Roy is the goat. I’d be curious how his career wins would stack up against goalies of the modern era if you removed OT and Shootout wins of today’s game since Roy played when OT was 5-on-5 and no shootouts. Games ended in ties.

You said it so well "Roy made it cool to be a goalie"! I was 6 years old when the 92-93 season started and I started to realy watch hockey. That was big one here in Finland because of Teemu Selänne was to start his rookie season. We followed that accurately over here. There were also two other names a young kid like me found so interesting right from the get go: the complete defenseman from Boston, Ray Bourque, and the goalie from Montreal who made stopping pucks and goals a graceful art, something no other goalie seemed to be able to do at the time with same style, Patrick Roy! From those days to this day those three names have been my ultimate favourites. My favourite forward/goal scorer, my favourite defenseman and my all time favourite goalkeeper!

IMO it’s Hasek. Dude was a unicorn. His style was unique and his play was dominate. You will see butterfly goalies all over hockey but you will never see another Hasek. You can’t mimic his style without letting in 10 goals. 1 of 1 that guy.

Patrick Roy's signature trait was his tenacity. He relished the biggest moments. 3 Conn Smythes is all you need to know about how this man was willing to ride and die for his team. Aggro Goalie. Aggro isn't always the best strategy if you ask Islanders fans, though.

the thing about his style, he was the BEST at stopping the shot, as long as his defense cleared the rebound then he was unbeatable, but get that rebound and you scored on him at will.

Unbelievable talent and way ahead of his time.. his arrogance was annoying, but it's probably also what drove him to success.. Definitely in the debate for one of the best of all time with Brodeur and Hasek

I still take the Dominator over Roy. Dominik Hasek was such a freak it makes him the go to. After that probably Roy, Cujo, Richter Brodeur was great but he played behind that trap which skews things

@SpenserK-ys8xq no, he wasn't. Montreal was not a great team. He single handedly won the cup in 93 for them. The Avs were a good team in need of a goalie. When he got there, they became a great team. People like to downplay what he because he was a bit of an asshole. And the gane he let in 9.

Roy played for more dominant teams than Hasek did. I think what made Hasek special was the fact that he performed the same with 12 shots against him in a game as he did facing 50 shots in a game.

Roy was not the best goalie of his time, nor was he the best of all time. 1st, his stats do not hold up..2nd he refused to compete for a position on team Canada more than once as he thought he should be given the starting goalie outright... Consequently, he failed. He was spoiled in Montreal.... but Team Canada was correct in saying one must make the team.....

U said conn smith, its smythe. Sm-eye-th U got it correct later on. And id say v.trekiak & tony espo deserve some credit for the butterfly style. u called him Roy not ra-wah or wah. ,.... what many have een callling him thinking this may be Ai? Getting tough to tell nowadays... but little errors like this reek of ai, or premature education. . Lol I mean, making & releasing a vid without properly proofing facts, sub par research, and not vetting the final product prior to release ... It just contributes to improper claims being deemed as facts Ppl will say that they heard it in a vid and pass that as fact Many ppl uploading vids on numerous subjects do not double check their facts U also called price currie price. These vids are dangerous...ppl look tto this type of content to educate themselves & are getting amateur hour results

The writing on this is just mediocre. The content is good, but the composition and the delivery need some serious work. The flow is all wrong. There is no time for the listener to have a moment. The entire thing can't be all hype. It needs to build and then release. Maybe the AI voice isn't such a good choice, or maybe you just need to dial into all the options and use the tool far better. Anyway, thanks for highlighting my favorite goalie.
