A beautiful song and a timeless movie... R.I.P. Patrick, we miss you!
Man these words from this song hit home. Met my Girl in 1984 in the 9th grade hallway. She was way out of my league but I had something that made her feel special. We rescued each other from mutually terrible family lives. We had a incredible marriage that just got better every day. Sadly cancer stole her from me this year at age 52, way too young. I tried so hard to fix it and took care of her best I knew how. She was afraid that I was going to leave her but I would have died protecting her. Now that she’s gone I’m just in a fog and feel like half my soul is gone. I’m sure she knew this would be the case as she always looked ten steps ahead. She insisted I find love again and remarry. I’m not sure it’s out there. I think I had my shot and it was what every man could dream of. Finding that again seems impossible. I was broken when she found me and here I am again. I’m just thankful I have my grand kids that I just adore and love them extra for her too.❤❤

His being the bad boy that the girls all wanted was the only thing that kept the guy from being one of everyone's favorites. If Hollywood had shown him for what he was really about in life he might have lost a few females (doubtful but possibly) but he would've picked up so many more male fans. 90% of men are haters though and I don't see that changing for the better anytime in the near future. Otherwise we'd all been fans of his. If the men who spoke badly about him would have had a peak into his legitimate character the hate would have waned and he would have had the respect of a huge majority of the male consumers of the Big Screen too.

I remember back in the early 80's when "The Outsiders" was just becoming a thing. Debbie Allen (from the musical show "Fame") said in an interview that Patrick Swayze was a so-called "triple-threat" who could act, dance AND sing. She said that when she [Debbie Allen] was a girl, she had attended Patsy Swayze's (Patrick's mom) School of Dance and had known Patrick for decades. She said his mom would always call him to the school to show the class the proper way to do certain moves. He was the teacher's son, so no one was surprised that he was a great dancer. But a few times, when the class would put on little musical shows, Patrick would show students how to sing and sometimes sing himself. After learning this, I was waiting for the guy to show off the talent Debbie claimed he had. And eventually "She's Like the Wind" was released and made me a believer.
