The 80's was the last great generation where people were good artists based solely off of raw good old fashioned talent! Maybe, just maybe we could stretch it to '95 but definitely not after that. Before auto tune and technology "made" artists sound good.

Except my parents seemed to adore classical standards and other big band stuff from the 40s. I came to respect it, but for people that were in their 30s and 20s(adopted dad born in '54, mom born in '60, ain't never seen my bio dad) in the 80s, they definitely seemed like they were in the wrong era. I was born in '83 and didn't hear much 80s music until the late 90s. Much thanks to The Wedding Singer starting off the whole "80s are cool again" vibe.
