On water bottle culture - I'm a uni student in Italy, and nearly everyone brings reusable water bottles to class. Also, most people (including myself) like to have one in the bag when going places. But it's NEVER those gigantic Stanleys or something of the sort - 500-700 ml max! I think it's because there are many water fountains available. My uni has a couple on every floor, if not more, many sports centres do as well, there are fountains on the street and in parks, or you can literally just pour from any bathroom tap because the water quality is great. People can refill their bottles anytime, so no one bothers to carry around a giant one with their daily intake lol. I think I once saw a girl in my uni carry a Stanley, but she was probably American.

That's really neat to hear! I have always drank water like a fish, but when I studied at a uni in Spain in 2008 Spanish students did NOT have any water bottles during class. I'm pro hydration, but you definitely don't need a Stanley or even a huge bottle unless you're backpacking lol

@christinehottinger5791 haha that's true! I have a ~500 ml bottle for uni and even most trips, and a tiny ~250 ml one for small purses - never need more at once, just refill them when necessary. Plus I have a couple of insulated bottles, but only use them at the beach or in the mountains. I really don't understand the need to always have a cold or hot drink unless you're in these special environments. Room temperature is just fine??? also it's best for your teeth and digestion in large amounts

I think one of the reasons why Americans like to always have a drink in hand is because of our “car culture”. If we were commuting by public transportation/walking I feel like we wouldn’t be bothered carrying something around all the time, but cars let us put everything in our car.

Hi, Angie! Here in Brazil, people allways carry a bottle of drink. Usually water, sometimes coffee. I don’t have a Stanley cup, but I try to have a bottle of water with me any time. Also, big companies are not providing diaposable cups as well for environment reasons, so you must have your own at work too. (Hope my poor English made sense. Rsrs) Love you! ❤

I’m not mad at the price of the Patrick Ta duos. When I compare to other single shadows like Hourglass it seems similar. Your channel and others like yours have also educated me on how expensive ingredients can be. That being said, it is out of my price range and I wouldn’t suggest anyone opt for PT over others.

the duo that appealed to me the most looks like it has very little sparkle. they shove it to the edge of the screen in marketing shots. i forget the name, but it has the light pink (we need better lighting?) - so disappointed. but you’re right- UD moondust singles are $24+ and too faced sold mid -at-best singles for $30. it’s still too much, especially because sparkly shades are even lower priced in indie shadows vs multichromes. the packaging is probably a lot of it.

European here! Other than some small flasks, usually carried by ppl who work at an office of some kind or are going to the gym, I don't think I've seen ppl here carrying massive drink tumblers around (I have yet to see a Stanley in person!). I *have* seen them used in videos by folk who have them at home (the Welsh brothers come to mind) but that's about it. I think carrying something this huge around is mental tbh, my backpack is heavy enough as it is 😅 PS: extra thought. Many people think that drinking water/liquids is the best - or only - way to stay hydrated. This is incorrect. We should be getting a good deal of the water we need from our diet. Perhaps the higher fresh fruit/vegetable consumption rate in Europe also explains why we don't carry 3l of water or soda or coffee with us at all times.

I love that dress so much and you look so beautiful in it! 😍 I reminds of a bridesmaid’s dress my mother had when I was a very young girl. Hers wasn’t as nice and the print was kind of reversed with an orange background and green and yellow flowers, but the shape was similar. I loved going in her closet and trying to put that dress on when she wasn’t around. I was swimming in it, but thought I was a princess.

I remember being horrified to pay $25 for a single shadow. $42 for a duo feels about the same - I can't do it anymore. I never get as much use out of a single shadow as I do a palette (although I realize this is different for everyone). But the price tags man... they're just so dang high now!

In Latin America we also carry water with us at all times... It makes sense to stay well hydrated, especially in tropical regions and warm climate. But paying astronomical prices for a bottle that performs just as well as cheaper ones, only to be up-sold a bunch of accessories for it, THAT doesn't make sense to me (and seems very american, respectfully).

Yea, europe still dont have a culture of carrying a cup with us. I think its actually based on the american diet. I heard something about americans drinking more and getting thirstier because they are consuming far more sugar and salt than us in Europe. Which naturally would cause them to desire to have drinks be more accessible and carry them along.

About this question with Stanley Cups: I am from Germany and I saw some Cups in that style (guess not the same brand) at the store. I not saw someone carry it around and I found them really huge. When I go out, i usually have a bottle of water with me (like 500 ml). Stanley is an american well known brand for cups, i am Spanish and moved to Florida 6 months ago, what i realized is that here the distances are so huge! sometimes i had headache for not drinking enough when i was out from home. So i definitely join😂 the drinking cup 🇺🇸 team and bough my Stanley and i love it! i have a lot of water really cold and not headache anymore fully recommended! plus stanley has some beautiful designs that fit my outfit 😎😜

Honestly I understand why Huda would want to release smaller palettes because no one I watch regularly has raved about the brand’s eyeshadow formula in years. They love the color stories but the formulas are not great, they definitely don’t compete with what is being sold by indie brands atm. I think it’s not smart to state that they’ll never make large palettes again because customers who do enjoy that format will feel discouraged to buy smaller because that’s what they like, and I think they are making smaller palettes because of shrinkflation, to reduce costs and keep profit margins the same. Will have to wait and see what happens but I don’t think this was the best move for them marketing-wise, but might be financially necessary to keep the brand competitive.

If the brands that put out big eyeshadow palettes don’t create some sort of Danessa Myricks sold separate stackable palette, they will be missing out. I absolutely LOVED the idea of Danessa Myricks stackable magnetized palette, the colors were just ugly in my opinion. I love color but those colors just sat in those pans looking like beauty counter Sears kid makeup. I’d easily buy a small palette from ND if they made two small palettes that were the same story, that had like 8 or 9 shades for $45 each. I think it would be fun to piece them together like expensive magnetic makeup legos. Prob be too expensive for the brand itself but, that’s my dream 🤷‍♀️

So my elementary school didnt have an AC and kids cant ask to leave the classroom every time they want to go the drinking fountain, so we used frozen water bottles we'd bring in our lunch and keep it on our desks. The sweaty bottles would make wet rings on my desks and then get my papers wet. My middle school didnt allow us to use backpacks because of famous Highschool in colorado (you know the one) so you had to find a way to carry all your stuff and there rubber bands on everything to keep things bundled together. So this stacking things on stanly cups just seems the next leap of never having bags out in public to hide things in.

I think cups can be accessories to show off. Me- I get dehydrated easily so I always take water in the car. Depending on what the activity is, I might take my bottle with me. Also, paying 3+ dollars for a water/ drink is a bit of a hit for me. Price gauging. I’d rather bring my own for free. If I go to a restaurant, I’ll pay for a drink.

Nope, we do not carry 1 kg of drinks around here in the Netherlands😂❤ But often we carry a reusable bottle to work. But a small one….300 to max 500 cc..

I would be quite surprised if ABH went bust NOW. They were having way worse moments - after the Norvina debacle, and then a big nothing-burger for a couple of years. Recently they soft relaunched with some really well received palettes (Nouveau, Rose Metals, Cosmic, Fall Romance) and the minis of Sultry and Modern Renaissance. I actually bought some stuff from them again after years of not caring (I got Rose Metals, Sultry mini, Spice) and I think many people did too.
