Johnson was followed up by Truss who could not understand basic economics. The Oxford Colleges must be so proud of them. So, the mantra of the Government was they were following the science, but Johnson (suspect others) did not understand the science.

As a lifelong tory voter I DESPISE Boris Johnson, he was handed the golden ticket with an 80 seat majority, he could of turned this country around but instead made it all about himself and just could not be bothered, I will never forgive him.

Tory comes from the Irish word for highway robbers, toraí. Therefore this is an ongoing issue with this particular party over generations and with conservatism, made worse by apparent Russian influence since 2016. Local democracy is still the way forward. You have the measure of bojo: "what's in it for me?"

Boris Johnson was never fit to be an MP, let alone PM. He simply doesn’t possess the skills required. He was only placed at the forefront of the Tory party because he could attract votes. There was never anything solid behind that facade. Whilst I understand that he may not have understood some particularly deep concepts, and when taken in isolation that is to be expected, but his lack of skill was apparent in everything he did as an MP/PM.

Making the excuse that other global leaders can’t grasp basics like exponential curves is a damning commentary on the political class. These tools are foundational for nearly all of science and economics, and they seemingly can’t grasp what an average 15 year old is expected to know. Pathetic

Can @PoloticsJoe explain why there is no entry exam which MPs have to pass? Seems crazy that there is no minimum level of ability required for the most influential jobs in government. WE have to pass tests if we want to get our jobs. Doctors. Scientists. Dentists. Accountants. Opticians. Nurses. Teachers. Electricians. Lawyers. Sales and admin. Accountants. Support Workers. Pilots. Editors. The list is endless. EXCEPT FOR POLITICIANS!! - I would love to know why. ❤

It seems to me, to be not beyond the wit of man, to have a basic test so politicians have a rudimentary understanding and ability at the roles we elect them to. These lunatics were in charge of the nation's well being during a global pandemic and they obviously had neither the ability nor the moral fortitude to protect us. Tens of thousands of avoidable deaths happened because of their lack of talents. - and that's not to mention their callous behaviour as well as suffered.
