I had the pleasure of working with Patrick many years ago, such a kind and gentle man with the voice of an angel. He told me a story of being approached by an x factor recruiter in Plymouth. Spent 12 hours laughing and joking instead of working....

Surprised no-one's commented on this in the past year and a half it's been up. Just found this a while ago and I've listened to it multiple times now. Patrick's voice is so good, for any type of music. Major props & thanks for uploading this song, man! Would've never found it otherwise(well, specifically since I didn't know this cover existed).

Algiz a friend turned me into this. I love Patrick’s work, and I love this cover better than the original. It was taken down for copyright for a bit. I was surprised to see it was back, I hope he releases it sometime soon in some form. FYI - I saw Warning Saturday and it was amazing.

From what I've understood from being a decade long fan of Patrick, I think he's a perfectionist so that might come into play when releasing/not releasing some of this lesser known work. I couldn't pinpoint why one shouldn't release this though, I love this type of thing. I hear you, I saw Warning live on the 13th of this month and it was indeed fucking amazing. I sang along to every single song, and a bunch of folks I knew at the gig just stared at the stage and cried from being so moved. I wasn't quite crying but it was a monumental experience anyway. I actually got to talk with Patrick before the gig, he was a total gentleman and very approachable. I was a bit drunk so I almost went into "fanboy"-mode with all the gushing and he was very understanding and a bit amused by it, I think.

He certainly is. I had the pleasure of opening for 40 Watt Sun during their U.S. tour a few years back. Great show and great guy. And I think something got in my eye a few times during Warning's set. So powerful and emotional. I'm glad I was finally able to witness it.

Holy shit dude, being an opener for one of the heaviest(this being said also in emotional and mental context) bands in modern history, that must've been amazing. I'm rarely jealous but that almost makes me go there, haha. 40 Watt Sun live is on my bucket list, they've come here before so I'm fairly confident they'll come again. Have to make the trip then.

I'm so glad this cover is back. I was quite sad to see it taken down over the copyright bit. Saved it now just in case it goes again. Thanks for uploading it < 3

Check out Damien Jurado, he wrote this song.

I love the original (credit to him in the description). I prefer Patrick's version though. His voice fits the material like it was written for/by him. I may be a bit biased, though. Warning is one of my favorite bands.

Hey Kevin - thanks for the upload - massive Patrick (and Jurado!) fan so v happy to listen to this (many times!) - where is the recording from originally? B side / radio session etc?

I honestly have no idea. My friend Corey (of the incredible doom band Apostle of Solitude) turned me on to both versions since I'm a huge Warning, 40 Watt Sun, and Patrick Walker fan. I felt it needed shared since it's so damn good.

I discovered Patrick half a year ago, since then every other vocalist sounds so mediocre. Comparing to him feels so unfair lol
