#52. He was our spearhead on defense. Our hammer and leader on that legendary defense that took us to superbowl in 2012. One of the best LB to ever play that game. Happy to see him doing well after giving up the cleats and will forever rep his jersey

Patrick Willis was easily the Ronnie Lott of his time. The reason "blue tents" were erected on the sidelines. A leader's leader. A terror sideline to sideline. A run stopper supreme, who brought the pain every snap, every Sunday, every season without question.

The San Francisco 49ers have a tradition of great linebackers from Frank Nunley, Dave Wilcox, and Skip Vanderbundt to Dan Bunz, Hacksaw Reynolds, and Keena Turner. But the greatest of them all wore #52 along side Navarro Bowman made the greatest inside linebacker duo in NFL history. HOF is going to get more Red and Gold in the years to come. So many deserving niners that belong.
