Not only are Skye and Frida my favorite lindy hop couple of all time…they are excellent teachers and lovely human beings. I remember dancing with Skye when I was a beginner and had no idea who he even was. I had only been dancing for three months, and a few cats’ corner phony rockstars snubbed me…not Skye. He was and has always been a class act who makes all levels of dancers feel good about themselves. The embodiment of all Frankie Manning stood for. And Frida is just as kind. Okay, enough gushing and back to the show…

In hindsight, this was the modern golden years of Lindy. This era was full of unstoppable powerhouse competitors, the start of easily accessible and sharing of Lindy hop videos, information and workshops, there were more local workshops popping up everywhere and the instruction could very well easily have been from one or many of those powerhouse competitors. Inspiration was at a all time high. This era was unforgettable. You can really tell when you re watch these older videos, the crowd just goes insane in a very real, primal way.

Love these guys. My favorite dancers of all time. I've had the wonderful oppurtunity of meeting them in person. They're lessons did more for my dancing than anything anyone has ever taught me.

it looks like the song they used is a shortened version of the full song. Anyone know where I can get the exact version they used? or did they edit the song themselves?
@AlexandreBarret9 жыл бұрын
+Brian Choi I have looked myself and I would not be surprised they cut out the piano solo and the transition to a higher key. The rest of the song seems identical than the original. Wham by Teddy Wilson

Did you ever find this cut of the song? I plan to do this choreo with a student so she get experience performing.
