I don't even care about the sound production of that little keyboard, I just like the idea of learning to master your chord playing by restricting yourself to only "two octaves!"......You will discover that inside of two octaves, you can play any Jazz chord you want (with chord inversion knowledge).....Very exciting to learn with AND to groove with!

Thanks! 🙂 Does it make sense to have several (2-3) midi keyboards?
@PatrickBreenMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Ok, short answer is: You really only NEED one Keyboard (and "need" is a term I'd use loosely!) Longer answer: At the end of the day it's all about preference. Do whatever helps you have the most fun making music (and whatever is also within your means, obviously.) If all of your needs are met with one keyboard, then don't spend your money on an additional midi keyboard. You want to focus on features and choose a keyboard or keyboards whose features suit the music you want to make. I like this new MPK Mini Play because of the built-in sounds - it's a feature that is not usually offered with Midi Keyboards at this price. However, for someone who doesn't care about that added feature, this keyboard wouldn't make sense. If all you want is the Midi Keyboard features, you should just get the MPK Mini or something similar. Does that make sense? Personally speaking, I have a few midi keyboards in my studio that get used regularly. One has full sized keys, the second has a built in sequencer and is small enough to fit on my desk, and the third is a mini keyboard that I can bring everywhere. All three have different features but all do a lot of the same things as well. I don't NEED all three. And I certainly wouldn't spend my money on a duplicate piece of gear if there was something more important I needed for my studio. But I've accumulated these keyboard over years of making music and content, and it's nice to have 3 keyboards that offer different features. Hope that helps! (Probably more than you asked for hahah!)

Everything a porn composer would ever need. >D But seriously, I just figured out what d was from adsr. After over 20 years of (amateur) music production. I’ll tell you. ‘A’ (attack) is a straight line from 0 to 100% (of the sustain volume). A higher value increases the length of time to reach the sustain volume. ‘D’ (decay) is not decay. It’s a parabolic line that affects the way the attack reaches the maximum sustain value, slowly or quickly. A minimum value is a steeper attack at the last point. A maximum value attacks more soon but with a more gradual curve. A middle value leaves the attack line straight without affecting the shape of the attack. ‘S’ affects the maximum volume. ‘R’ effects the length of the release of the sound fading.
