The first Tamarro in the video was the most fun one for me to find. When I was around there, another family with two kids were looking for Massa, the Tamarro for La Massana. I ended up tagging along with them with a little bit of Castellano I learns while in high school! The one that took the most walking from the "Troba al Tamarro" sign. Walking along the river was quite something. At 07:20, the Les Fonts viewpoint, I ran into it by chance after finding Caldes. The forest path that you need to walk in order to reach Caldes is beautiful! So calming that I ended up walking around that area more before walking to Lake Engolasters. Whoever's idea it was to introduce Tamarros to encourage people to explore the nature in Andorra, it's quite genius I have to say.

I did the 3 countries in 1 day tour when I was in Barcelona in January. The stops we made were really cool, but it was definitely too much time driving. I was a solo traveler and it was a good way to meet up with other people. I would definitely like to go back to Andorra and explore a bit more during the warmer part of the year.

I am thinking of doing the 3 country tour in Jan 2024 as well. But I am reading that it's too hectic and probably not worthwhile because the town/village in France will be mostly closed as well. That said how was the scenery and weather in January? Thanks

Good video! I'm booked up to go to Barcelona in September and was thinking of doing a day trip to Andorra. I might see if I can stay overnight there now and return the next day. You're right, six hours on the bus is no joke and another KZbinr suggests taking Dramamine if you suffer from motion sickness! 😱

Great video - thanks! I’m not a fan of the one country day trips…especially when you would spend 6 hours on a bus. So I’ve never done it when I’ve been in Barcelona. The three countries in 1 day sounds awful to me.

What most tourists that are eager to visit three countries in one day don't realize is that it's in many ways relatively irrelevant whether you are on one side of the border or the other. Many extremely small countries are so tiny that they are lacking aspects of proper identity, such as San Marino, Andorra or Liechtenstein. Apart from that, the local geography builds up identity whether it's a mountain range like the Pyrenees with the common features on the different sides of the borders, regional identities of being Catalonian, Basque, Occitan, Gascon within the same country or even on both sides of a border. Northern France and Southern France are completely different territories. The same with Spain, Italy or Germany. Bordering regions often have more in vommon with their neighbouring country than the other end of the same. They may even speak another language on the other side of the border but the local dialect or accent at the opposite end is often as difficult to grasp as the other language. In Europe country identities are of course prevalent but are also of relative importance. Many people cross borders to di their daily shopping or go to work or visit their relatives. It may be difficult to perceive for most Americans, Canadians or Australians.

I'm coming in April. I'm flying into Barcelona, renting a car and driving up to spend a few days in Provence and a couple days in the Midi before driving back to Barcelona. I was researching visiting Andorra on the drive back to Barcelona when I came across this video. Would you recommend it if you are heading back and it's on the way???
