Another great video with awesome playing. I like your honesty with calling out darkglass to do more.
@rhynod6796 Жыл бұрын
I'm an intermediate bass player who just ordered this pedal over the new Ampeg SGT-DI. I can instantly recognize this pedal has WAY more options than I will know how to utilize. With that being said, and regardless of whether or not I'm taking a lesson, I get frustrated and play less when I can't dial in that awesome bass tone I hear on my favorite albums. I can hear a close representation of them all on the preset sounds the Infinity has to offer. I currently own the Vintage Deluxe v3 and Alpha Omicron pedals. I expect this will replace both of them, but maybe not. I'm not a professional player who has a gig every weekend and never will be. We'll see what happens.

It honestly seems like a step-back from the Photon I bought earlier this year. Like, am I crazy, or is the Infinity almost the same pedal with some minor tweaks?
@josku52 жыл бұрын
I just got the Photon and this is basically a copy of that but just with the X thing instead of AO
@johnsausage2 жыл бұрын
You figured it out... that's how they up sell their products. Start with something simple then add some stuff to it, then add some software-based modifications (which isn't expensive since they already have all the software from previous pedals).. that's the way to milk a cash-cow. I'm getting **** tired of this strategy. I'm very happy with the small Alpha Omicron pedal and was looking at ADAM when it first came out.. but still it's not flexible enough.. no send and return to hook into other pedals into the signal path. I guess that's what could be coming at some day. There's no real innovation now..
@alexschmidt53582 жыл бұрын
I agree with the closing statement. There's nothing wrong with putting the pedals we all know and love into a convenient package, but it would be cool to see some new pedals brought to life physically like the M***F*** filter and the Chinchilla drive. On the same hand, I'd love to see the X7, harmonic booster and maybe an octaver on the E500 at some point (and some news about an exponet specific midi pedal 🤔).

Dont get me wrong but i am a little bored with darkglass doing the same thing in different ways over and over, they really need something new.

@Drasgum As for someone that doesn't own a Darkglass pedal yet, what do you want then? Just curious. Am I missing out on something if I decided to own one of these then?
@stevenhirsekorn34442 жыл бұрын
@@CharlesNotBronson I think it's more about the stereotypes that go with darkglass where it just has that obnoxious nolly tone . I have played their pedals before and found them lacking fine controls. I wish the eq controls were much more parametric. I also miss the attack and grunt switches. Tbh the distortion character is kinda an afterthought for me. Like it's meant to be blended I know but it just doesn't sound good on its own like an old school bass amp distortion. It just sounds like hair on top of the basses on higher drive settings. I myself like alot of low mid frequency in my bass but for the right frequencies you really want the eq to be parametric so you can finely dial it in. The darkglass eq controls are kinda generic imo.

Cant agree)) adam -ish models of pedal are realy cool stuff but people used to love sound of their old models . @jamesatkin94122 жыл бұрын
I have an X Ultra in the FX loop of an HX Stomp and that's an infinite amount of awesomeness right there. This pedal would potentially be even better, but there's no way I could justify the upgrade. It could still do all the same things. Use the darkglass as the heart and the Stomp for compression, additional EQ tweaks, tuning and the odd effect. What more could you ever need?
@carlosloor882 жыл бұрын
totally agree on the effects loop! it would be a great addition to the line

Maybe one solution could be a software upgrade to have the possibility to reroute one of the balanced outputs to be used as FX loop using a "Y" cable like the loops on the EBS Billy Sheehan drive.

They don't have anything like this based on the Vintage Ultra, right? That would be what I want. As a non-metal guy, the Vintage Ultra is by far my favorite pedal of theirs. But I would love to see it expanded to have more functionality like this.
@dangiampietro66062 жыл бұрын
so the "vintage microtubes" side of this is the same gain circuit tone as the vintage deluxe. While the b3k is akin to the b7k and so forth, if I'm not mistaken. So you should have the option for both.

I dont really get this product. Like you said, the exponent 500 was a step forward. Its still on my wishlist. But since release there isnt much talked about. The expression pedal / foot switch which kinda should come still isnt there. I love Darkglass but there whole product strategy is kinda confusing.
