Yangshuo is a small town, but it belongs to the Greater Guilin Area. The center of the Greater Guilin Area is Guilin City, Yangshuo is a small town like the countryside in China. I was born in Guilin City, and I am a city girl. I remember when I was little, I traveled to Gongcheng to visit my Grandpapa and passed by Yangshuo. All the way down to Yangshuo, I saw many farmers and a lot of farms, which is very different from my city, Guilin. Guilin is a world-famous tourist city, and we have a lot of commercial areas, like shopping streets. Kids who grow up in Guilin have a much better education compared with the kids who grow up in Yangshuo. We have a huge difference in educational backgrounds; we have better school campus, better teachers, better equipment, better education, etc. When people ask me where I am coming from? I tell them I am from Guililn, but they may think I am from Countryside YangShuo because they don't know the difference between Guilin and YangShuo. Usually, people from Yangshuo also say they are from Guilin. Yes, they can say they are from Guilin, too, because Yangshuo is in the Greater Guilin Area, just like Bellevue in the Greater Seattle area, but not Seattle City, right? I live in the Greater Seattle Area, but I do not live in Seattle City, same here! Yangshuo, not Guilin City, but in the Greater Guilin Area.
