Hi everyone and thanks all the positive comments! I'm glad that most of you enjoyed my attemp to play this song. The real reason for me writing is that I can't help noticing some of you got really upset for me skipping the intro and just fooling around. My apologies to you, I wasn't aware back then that the intro was that important for some of you. Truth is, I personally never liked or understood the intro that much and therefore I never tried to learn it. I'm also well aware that I'm more of a metal drummer than laid-back jazz drummer, so I didn't even dare to try the intro. My mistake was I didn't check any live videos of Seans drumming beforehand so I missed a good opportunity to learn his approach and nuances on this song. Lesson learned and I'm sorry if I ruined the song for you. I'm also a very bad comedian so forgive me if the intro looks like I'm bragging. Couldn't be more the opposite. Anyway, thanks for all the comments and keep blasting! \,,/

So much dynamic in this song that i truly feel it is the most difficult thing to approach. The leaning back in the tempo and picking up in the tempo while staying in time is HARD.

True that, the dynamics of this song are really tough to mimic. It was also difficult to hear all the nuances from the album version. My mistake was that I didn't check any live videos of Sean's drumming beforehand, missed a good opportunity to learn his approach and tricks on this song.

@@Patrikblast Shalom Aleichem, ... you`re already on the level of a pro. The way you handle the double kick is 10/10 (no movement of upperlegs) You are playing in the pocket 80% of the time. I promise you, you will subdue this song eventually. Keep it up, you are an inspiration to other drummers.

Some really impressive speed around the kit, but the same thing people are saying makes it look effortless also makes it look lifeless. Drum triggers on the kicks allow you to play fast with a powerful sound without hardly moving your legs in a way where a coffee wouldn't fall off your snare. Sean Reinert lays into this track live. And if you're gonna skip the intro don't make fun of it.

The "Triggered Kicks" definitely make playing this song these days 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔 Far more plausible... I totally agree with you 👌 Sean was the real deal and hand techniques are nearly impossible to replicate on a song as such... Sure you can play it 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔 However 🤷🏻‍♂️ Can you play it with the power and finesse that Sean did?? I yet to see a Death Drum Cover someone does...

Ok, yeah, you made that shit look easy, like it's flat out simple, and did an amazing job!!!! My hat is off to you. Yes, some may think there are better, faster, and heavier metal bands out there to choose from as their all time favorite.....but DEATH is, and will always remain my all time favorite band ever!!!
