This is one of those figures I wanted as a kid when the Cybertron show was on TV, but I never got him. So when I saw that they were making a new version of this guy I was so excited; I have never pre-ordered a figure that quick.

I was also going to pass this guy up too, until I saw him on clearance at Walmart. Picked him up with the intention to resell him, but after watching your review and seeing the ToyHax upgrade pack, I am going to keep him and get the ToyHax upgrade, WOW WHAT AN UPGRADE...

For some reason the sword is named Rhisling. I gotta agree, this figure needs a lot of help. Some joint tightening, and hopefully Toyhax and 3P upgrade kit on order will redeem it.

It was going so well... When it first appeared at first glance I wanted to get it but on closer inspection it's like they got halfway through and someone quit/got fired or something and they just said 'good enough'. Shame. I got Jhiaxus at a pretty low price and this could have been a nice pair but having seen it thoroughly now I doubt I'd bother even dirt cheap. Got my SG Optimus and Ratchet expected tomorrow and my eye on a load of 3rd party stuff including a light-up chest filler for Jhiaxus among some other cool stuff as well a couple other reduced figures at the same time as completely upgrading my desktop PC so my wallet is not going to be full of appreciation and good cheer this Halloween into Christmas either way. Good times.

I'm waiting on the ToyHax set and a upgrade kit I found on eBay that comes with little wings to fit the leg tabs and larger wings for the back, plus other little improvements.

I love Vector Prime and wish we could see him a bit more. Old school Marvel Transformers used the heck out of time travel, guess he’s busy cleaning up that mess. Oh well. REMEMBER THE THIRTEEN!

I feel the same way, part of me feels like some of it was phoned in. Which is a shame since the Cybertron Starscream and Hotshot were fantastic and faithful to the original toys. And I have the exact same problem with that wing. On the same side, too. It popped off with little to no effort. What I did was buy some mod podge from Michael's, used a paint brush on the peg to thicken the joint, and it holds a lot better. Still not perfect, but at least it won't pop off if I look at it funny.

I've seen Vector Prime a couple times at the stores but, I just can't get myself to pick it up. Being that it really doesn't look like Vector as before. I do like the sword, though. Great review as always PPR!

yeah he is a decent figure. i also wish they would have remolded the legs. maybe a gear pattern because he was supposed to be really old and he always had gears moving esp when he transformed. as for the mounts for the Jihaxus mini wings, i just nipped those off and it looks much better. just dont nip off the pegs for the "solar panels" in alt mode lol great review!

I have the old figure. Specifically the gold "Galaxy Wars" deco. I missed out on him when he was new so I recently bought him on ebay.

I got my Toyhax set coming as well. I really like him way more than his mold mate. Also the windshield I made for Road Pig fits it much better on him. I also have some very small upgrades for some of the cassettes.

Pretty fair review as something really should have been done with the lower legs. Other than that enjoyment on this overall figure I think hinges mostly on the Q/C Despite many reports mine through Amazon is pretty great. Tight joints for great dynamic posing, and the face doesn't fall off. No fixing the horrible wing struts however, as they are easily the worst part of this figure as there really is no way of nicely configuring them in robot mode. About the wings easily popping off I think this is intentional as they can be used as lower arm shields/weapons in robot mode, Though not at all accurate to the original design, I still like this additional configuration. Not the best figure of the year, but pretty far from the worst.

I bought vector prime at target on an impulse. Toyhax decals were the only influence that made me wanna get him otherwise I’d have passed on him

I think I need to hunt old one. Lazy remold with loose joints isn't great. Hopefully we will get v2 with Age of Primes or whatever it will be called in 2026.

@@PatriotPrimeReviews that’s gonna completely ruin any cool posing potential. Better to use super glue and narrow the peg holes. I even just applied a liberal amount of Kiki’s over time and dramatically reduced the amount of times the pieces pop off.

Had him preordered because I've been wanting an updated V.P. for years. But the more I looked at him and as reviews stated coming out the less I was impressed with him. I ended up canceling and haven't really seen anything that makes me regret it so far.

i do have to complain about calling it half assed. i had the original as a small child and i love the character and i found this update to be fantastic. to fully make a new mold for them other figures would have had to suffer i think they did a darn good job considering the fact they have a razor thin budget pushed across an entire toyline with an ever decreasing margin of profit as costs go up the cost of making molds goes way up and the sales go down. as for other things my own copy is... about as floppy as my jihaxus but nowhere near as hard to stand as yours i wonder if the mold degredation is getting worse (mold degredation happens at different rates for different kinds of molds say... a seeker mold has a much longer lasting mold then... jihaxus because it will get a lot more reuse to justify a much longer lasting mold and giving it maitenance) i will suggest taking the wing sections and turning them so they face inwards then pushing up so the connector bar is inbetween the wing sections it cleans it up a bit makes it hang down less and helps his balance

I noticed you didn't mention the Cyber key can be placed in the top of his back in robot mode and placed behind the cockpit covering the 5mm port just in front of the peg

I don't know how the fans of Transformers: Cybertron feel. I'm going through all the series with my son currently halfway through Energon and neither of us are fans of the Unicron trilogy so far. He likes G1, Beast Wars, Prime, Cyberverse and Beast Machines as his top 5.

I really fear we're going to be getting a lot more half-assing from Legacy and I fear it will spill into Studio Series too. I think Hasbro is really hurting right now due to their Disney/Marvel/Star Wars licensed products just packing shelves.
