The patriot is proud of his country for what it does, and the nationalist is proud of his country no matter what it does.

Thanks for the session. When it comes to foreign policy decision making it is better to be nationalistic than patriotic. The distinction remains grey. Can i assume it to be context specific application of the concept ?

Foreign policy and ethics will always have a grey area. You can safely assume it to be context specific

"Caste groups are evil for the society... Religious consciousness unites people but it endangers the followers of other religions when it forms the majority... Linguistic groups and tribal groups should not be encouraged, they might be divisive..... States are federal in nature but their schemes shouldn't question the integrity of majority, bla bla, bla...." these types of hypocrisies are not new for us. Either it is a caste group or it is a country, they both are communities with the only difference the former is a small group, the latter is a large group. At the end group is a group. That is, we are carried away by an idea that large groups are good but small groups pose threat. The collective conscious gets its shape only when there is a common threat. As it is true from our patriotism and oneness against the common enemy, British during the colonial era. It is very obvious from defeating the alien group of Thanos by Avengers😂... So if an even powerful enemy shows up, probably the entire galaxy will stand up against the other galaxy and so on.. I think forming groups and defeating an enemy when shows up, and defeating within one's own group if that enemy doesn't shows up is the basic instinct of beings.😂 Therefore, a group has always proven to be the grand base for every wars fought so far. And coming again to one of your vaild points, sir, patriotism is spiritual...🤔 That makes the entire debate to take a turn and calls for the ultimate oneness and common good for all irrespective of any particular favour makes patriotism more meaningful. Whatever it may be let us celebrate this 75th Republic day with a great sense of universal brotherhood and tolerance, as the constitution has a long way to go at this political climate. Great and Thankyou sir. Best wishes🎉🎉🤩

Good Evening sir, Below are my views on PATRIOTISM. Kindly enlighten me Patriotism should not be only the person’s persona ; rather it should be innerly deeply rooted. When philosophizing things.. For attaining Eudonomia and to cease ‘us versus them’ syndrome, a person should go hand in hand with patriotism and cosmopolitanism. Patriotism can also be arose by ‘conformity pressure’ in an optimistic manner. Patriotism has to become one of the archetypes of Jungian psychology. However Jingoism should be undoubtedly excluded and eradicated.. Following your insightful videos since couple of months…
