👍🏻👏🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤️🇬🇧, What a brilliant speech Emma, such a breath of fresh air seeing women like this speaking up for our heritage and culture. The silent majority is screaming out for change, we all want our country back, we all deserve a country that represents us and our values, customs and traditions, keep up the great work you are all doing at the NCF, we are all shifting the Overton window. 🇬🇧

@@Englandweloveyou I hope you do get where 'YOU'RE coming from' , but my experience is that most English people, even those who are supposedly educated, have no knowledge of or respect for English culture or even the correct use of our language. They're inculcated with the belief that anything English is third rate and to be despised, whereas everything from other countries is superior. A fine example of this is our beer. English beer is special but most people think imitations of inferior foreign beers are superior. The education system has much to blame.

Exactly, as with all things, clarity of mind is of utmost importance. So with that in mind let's examine the word "nation." Your nation is your people, by BIRTH, through blood. It is not a political abstraction, unlike patriotism, towards a government or a flag, with God knows who granted citizenship as is our situation today. The following is the etymology of the word nation: c. 1300, nacioun, "a race of people, large group of people with common ancestry and language," from Old French nacion "birth, rank; descendants, relatives; country, homeland" (12c.) and directly from Latin nationem (nominative natio) "birth, origin; breed, stock, kind, species; race of people, tribe," literally "that which has been born," from natus, past participle of nasci "be born" (Old Latin gnasci). Ethnic and cultural patriotism is essentially nationalism. Who wants to be a mere "cultural patriot," living as a minority, replaced in their own homeland by foreigners so long as they sip tea and speak with an agreeable accent? Considering the history of the UK, with separate English, Welsh, and Scots ethnicities, the emphasis has been placed onto patriotism at the expense of nationalism, in order to maintain the union. I regard that as a weakness that has been exploited. Essentially, if the union is to remain in any form that is acceptable, there must be a sort of White British nationalism that is promoted. Otherwise, people will by default revert to their organic, natural, national identities as English, Scottish, and Welsh.

Hello! I am from Sri Lanka(Ceylon). Our country was a British colony for more than 150 years. I am a teacher of English language and literature(Edexcel & Cambridge exams), and I have a profound passion for my profession. I watch Peter Whittel's pod casts, and feel utterly poignant about what has become of the great UK. I can relate to Emma's words for I've learnt most of the work of Owen, Shakespeare, Orwell and the like. I can’t wait to see your country become Great again, and perhaps, restablish Englishness by banishing all those who have bastardised the authetic flavour of the Great Britain. Thank you Emma. It was such an eloquant, heart-warming, apt presentation. Thank you Peter. If you don't reverse it, here in Sri Lanka, I will have to teach my students Shariah law instead of English literature. I honestly cry a sea of tears, upon witnessing the certain marches in the heart of London. It's Now or Never!May you be stronger!

I have lived abroad for 50 years but Emma's words meant so much to me and I felt proud and privileged to have been born in England. I love English music and when I listen to the, "Lark Ascending" it reminds me of rainy Sunday School outings to the Lickys: the smell of the damp earth and sandwiches on the coach with a flask of semi-hot tea. I had a love/hate relationship with my school uniform but I was proud to wear it on the hockey field. Fish and chips on Friday and we'd go into town on Saturday, Sundays were always the same: church, roast lunch, snooze, church. So many happy memories of the England I grew up in. Listening to Emma brought it all back, I feel quite homesick.

Probably one of the better descriptions of England this green and sceptred isle, I see so many ask today what it is to be English, what is English culture, so many truly fail abysmally when answering this important question and I think by jove she has got it! It's really not just one thing it is so many things that all go to making up England and the English way. We need to do something about the education system and to teach children to love our country and to have some pride for it, to not do this will continue to drive us down a slippery slope, the collage system maybe a lost cause unless the faculty is eradicated root and stem, as the rot is now deeply entrenched.

I disagree with the intent of the last question. The gentleman's description of nationalism is actually the definition of racism, not nationalism. I am a patriot and a nationalist, despite not being Anglo-Saxon by blood. I also admire the nationalism of other countries. It's true that some have changed their version of nationalism to be racist, but that holds true of patriotism too. Real nationalism is pride in your country, but not at the expense of other people's. Don't forget the Shoah was the result of the socialist part of the German government, not the nationalist. The latter part was just the excuse to target minority groups.

Remind people that 1 Unless the senses are right the reasoning is false. 2 Everything that humans deliberately say or do begins with Judgement in the mind. There is Sound Judgement, Rough Judgement and Poor Judgement. 3 The supreme virtue of the Cardinal 4 is Rational Judgement, sometimes called Prudence, because it is by this that we value things at their true and proper worth. 4 Jesus Christ the Son of God was a man of Discipline and Sound Judgement. 5 The apocryphal part of the Douay Bible tells us of the importance of Discipline and of the danger of compromising it. The book says : The Holy Spirit of discipline will flee from the deceitful and will withdraw himself from thoughts that are without understanding (Wisdom 1:5). He that rejects Wisdom and Discipline is unhappy (Wisdom 3:11). 6 Saint Paul said : God is not the author of confusion. Let all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14 verses 33 and 40).
