Love the idea of getting D. Maye at 3, hate the idea of trading down and improving the team in hopes that a QB that can actually play magically falls into our lap, that NEVER happens!

Best Case: Pats draft Drake Maye, trade up for a WR from 34, then get lucky with a developmental tackle late or just patch work it till next year as we are rebuilding.

I feel the same. Whatever you dont hit on in this draft, draft LT,WR & maybe QB 1st rd next year. But I can't lie I love the thought of trading down and getting these flashy players 1-3 rounds. And a future 1st adding to their own. Rebuilding with 4 1st round picks in 2 years makes me 🥵

*Best case is we trade back get an extra pick next year, take one of the top WR and Tackles in the First. Select another Tackle/Guard in the 2nd. Trade a 3rd and a future conditional 3rd for Tee Higgins. Take a day 3 QB to develop and ride with Jacoby/Zappe for the year and then bring in a franchise qb next year.*

@@JonStark117 yeah that'd be great imo. I think mac and zappe got their potential stunted with no talent. Zappe still on the team. If he looks better than brisset in camp, see if you can get something out of him. Maybe just a high end back up for the future but you never know. There's some potential qbs later in the round this year too. Not to high on qbs next year but another Daniels type player can pop up

Thanks for the entertainment, guys. It`s ok to laugh about certain historical events. -I`ve got a draft SNAFU from the 80`s, as I`m an old guy. I can`t remember the exact year, but the Patriots traded down a draft pick to the San Francisco 49`ers. (...All you old guys know where I`m going with this.) -The 9`ers used the pick to draft Jerry Rice. Anybody heard of THAT guy? -The Pat`s used their pick to draft O-Lineman Trevor Matich. Maybe it goes the other way this year, and some other team makes a historic blunder (benefitting the Pats this time). Let`s hold a good thought, and manifest this result. Let the good luck boomerang come around back. Go,Pats!

worst case is we trade back and whiff on those picks and come away with no qb no lt or no wr of note while we watch Maye Daniels and Mccarthy have dominant careers

I don't see why this is so hard...it's QB, tackle then WR...it's irrelevant which one it is cos they are all just 50/50 shots whether it's Williams, Maye or Daniels

So we draft Troy Franklin, then we get 2 wide receivers who can't stay healthy or stay on the field because he's just Thornton 2.0. We need a bigger, thicker, stronger wide receiver, Xavier Leggett or Johnny Wilson, for example. JM2C

Why haven’t you discussed the patriots signing Donovan Smith from the chiefs in free agency. I think he would be a good fit for a year or two to either mentor a pick this year or the year after. It frees you up to take a great receiver at 34 overall.

If the pats can move back within the top 10, draft a WR, and potentially draft Penix (Late 1st/Early 2nd) I think that’s the best plan. Just not Bo Nix please. Then use whatever they get to trade back for an OT/TE/CB. Getting a solid QB/WR duo in the first two picks creates a solid foundation and leadership for the offense.

@@patriotsloco9724 not necessarily.. Patriots past, we hit on later draft picks instead of early. I do agree around 3 draft picks but they won't all be early. That's why trading down would be nice. More picks for a horrible roster to rebuild

The fact you would say Daniel’s scrambles to scramble shows you don’t watch enough film a lot of his pressure came from the guards they struggled with and emeryjones goin through growing pains as a sophomore right tackle

Trade down( can get 3 picks in the first minimum ) to build support for any QB you have playing.... Oline, starting caliber explosive x y z receiver.( Malik nabers, Brian Thomas, Roman Wilson) .. maybe e stud TE.. maybe if he's that phenomenal..

If we're trading down with Minnesota, I want two 1st round picks and Justin Jefferson. That's probably absurd value but I don't care, at 11 we could easily miss out on the top 4 QBs, the top 3 WRs, and the top couple tackles. Not worth it unless the return is crazy

Worst-case scenario is taking Drake Maye at #3. We would then become the Jets always waiting for our high-drafted QB to "turn the corner." 3-4 years of being in limbo, and then needing to draft or trade for another QB, ad infinitum. Drake Maye is Sam Darnold 2.0.
