Glenn turned them down. The Rooney rule is antiquated. Black coaches have proven themselves. They don’t need a Rooney rule anymore. If an owner is not hiring black coaches because of race at this point, they are not interested in winning.

I respect Mayo as a man and previous player, but the impression I have is he didn't help himself in his position. I'm not just talking about the verbal gaffs, but the effort needed to be a coach requires a lot of self-learning, of putting in time reviewing tape - not of players, but of other coaches. Figuring out when and why play calls were changed, players substituted, etc. The "playing cards with the guys" is just a microcosm of his own lack of effort (whether or not BB was supposed to be helping before things went south).

Can we please stop bringing up rational way of thinking... As far as hiring a certain amount of black coaches.... The best person qualify for the job typically gets it... Let's suggest something new shall we... How about white coaches that don't get the job because of a black coach complain that he is more qualified than the black coach... Can we see that please

If Vrabel is hired then he will likely hire Josh McDaniels as OC. McDaniels was lacking creativity and innovation in his play calling in his final 2 years in New England. I totally agree with John's assessment on the candidates and the need to pair Ben Johnson with Drake Maye. Ben Johnson > Mike Vrabel + Josh McDaniels.
