Just how much more beautiful it will be when you find peace and purpose through surrendering into God's plan for you. I'm on the same path, I'm hurting also but I have no doubt - that's the only way. Surrendering oneself into God's hands and accepting our stories as a gift no matter the hardships. God himself chose to experience greatest pain imaginable for us, we must deny our selfish nature and follow Christ example and I'm sure answers will come and the void will finally be filled. Please pray for me everyone. It's summer and I'm trapped at home with my alcoholic father having to endure his yelling and hitting and oppressive atmosphere. I can't sleep well due to my anxiety and I can't even find the strength to leave my room to eat out of fear he'll begin berating me for something. Every day it gets tougher and I don't know how long I can do this without one day hurting myself. It's so hard to even pray to Jesus about it because thinking of my Heavenly Father reminds me of my earthly one and I can't help but break down and cry. I need prayer so bad.

I'm sorry ur so discouraged. Saying the Jesus prayer is very important, sometimes you might need to cling to this for hours.... Also when awake at night say it... Keep seeking and learning. I've found reminding myself that others are in same pain and struggle and praying for them eases the burden for me.... I pray out loud.... Also offering God thanks and praise out loud, sacrificially...... When in pain and anger....... Use ur tongue as a sword... Stay in touch with people go to liturgy. . Don't isolate urself. ❤️🙏☦️☀️

@@AnnetteCurtain-tc4mh "endure"? 🤔 Can't agree, just can't. The problem with the majority of "christians" is that they do not follow Jesus. He said "rejoice" when prosecuted. I almost never met someone who does that. Everyone "endures" while showing how victimized they are. That's not following Jesus. When I started following this advice from Him I started to feel better and better 🙂 It's powerful advice straight from God. Help your brother/sister to feel good and rejoice when someone hurts him/her. God will bless you 🙂

Can you listen to this video and write down things that can be a minute by minute or hour by hour guide to take yourself away from old habits? Pick the easiest one that you can stop and move on to next. Listen to Dr. Jordan Peterson's videos & read the comments. You will see hiw he has helped thousands. Start your new job with gratefulness in your heart . Be proud to work, pay your bills and save money. Even a dollar a week: think about this: one dollar a week will become $52 in one year. Start where you can & build yourself up. Read books (free at the library) on money management. There are many easy to read and digest. Thank you for these encouraging words. I'm new to Orthodoxy. I've been awakening each day at 2am in a panic about one of the sins I struggle with, which is gluttony over food. This is affecting my heath, and I use food for comfort. For two months God's grace and mercy set me free. For the first time I could see how I was imprisoned by that sin, and tortured by it. I had peace for two months. I felt set free from prison. Then I was tempted and sinned again, and the tortUre started all over. My failure keeps me from sleep and is destroying my health. Leading up to our chrysmation I suffered demonic attacks every day late at night....that all stopped after we were chrysmated however you must always be on your guard. Not everything is in our control. There are many bad circumstances we can't change. We want to change them, but we are powerless or have limited power to change them for the better. For example we can't control or change the weather. The weather is our external climate. We have an internal climate also. It is our dispositions or spirit or moods. We sometimes have sunny dispositions and sometimes cloudy dispositions. Sometimes they are calm. Sometimes they are stormy. Remember the story of Jesus asleep in the Apostles boat during the storm on the Sea of Galilee. Mark 4. There are many external things we can't control or change, and not everything about ourselves internally can we control or change either. Some of us have internal storms. Our emotions or passions are like the winds blowing our attention here and there. Our thoughts can be like waves tossing and turning in our minds. Some people have more control over their thoughts than others do. Some have more control over their moods than others do. I doubt any of us have absolute control though. A bad mood conjures up bad thoughts. A good mood conjures up good thoughts. Good thoughts reinforce a good mood. Bad thoughts reinforce a bad mood. Our emotions and thoughts are like the wind and the waves stirring each other up. You might have an ill mood which makes it very difficult to control your thoughts. A persistent ill mood with persistent ill thoughts leads to ill behaviors. Thus, you might struggle more than others do. Read and meditate on the passage in Luke 23 about the two criminals hanging next to Jesus on the cross. The Greek word used for criminal means one with a bad or ill disposition or a worker of ill. One of the criminals chided Jesus demanding he do something. You can't do much nailed to a cross. Unable to move your arms or legs, you're powerless. Yet, the other criminal did do something. He came to Jesus' defense. He pointed out Jesus' goodness in contrast to his own. He then asked Jesus to remember him when he entered into his kingdom. Jesus told him that from that day forward he would be with him in paradise. Prior to this scene, Jesus asked his Father to forgive those who crucified him because they knew not what they were doing. After this scene, Jesus placed his spirit into his Father's hand. You might feel powerless, like nailed to a cross, to control and change your disposition or spirit, moods, thoughts, words, and behaviors. But you can be assured that Jesus' Father forgives you because Jesus asks him to. You might not be able to do a lot, but you can be like the criminal on Jesus' right who defended his goodness despite his own badness. You can ask Jesus to remember you in his kingdom. You can place your spirit into his hands, acknowledging you are not in control of your spirit or disposition or mood, but knowing he ultimately is in control of everything. Once in his hands, he will bring you into paradise with him.

Think about the man with a legion of demons who was saved by Christ, or Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector (they routinely practiced extortion and were despised by fellow Jews as sinners). Both of these are examples whom Christ personally came to in order to save! No such thing as a wasted life, only waste is not repenting and going forward. Morbid guilt is another waste of time. Don't torture yourself, like Father says! You are not the judge of whether or not you deserve your life, God is the judge and God keeps you alive !

The devil want's you to feel like that. What you feel about yourself does not come from God. It comes from the evil one, who wants you to despair, he wants destruction. We are all sinner's and in need of our loving father in heaven, Jesus love's you so very much, not matter what wrong we do, we can turn to him and show sorrow for our sins, like we all do, he wants you to come to him. He never changes he is the same for all time, and that means he always loves you dearly. Humiliation is to be humbled. People always condition the term of humility to not" be a doormat " but it is to view yourself not higher than you should. Is better to portrayed not in fear but in proactive thinking. Instead of 'Don't do this', consider 'doing this' instead. They both should mean the same thing if the scripture is interpreting correctly otherwise it's just affirming your own beliefs instead of what the speakers; by their divinely-lead mindset's beliefs were. What is the issue with 'being a doormat' come from? Jesus allowed people whom He was far superior to to kill him and be falsely accused. Jesus says to love your enemies but Jesus also overturned the money changers in the temple as it was desecration of God's temple. Jesus knew when to submit and when to stand against unapproachable behavior. Today, we don't do it on the basis of the Lord but instead of political affiliation, or personal beliefs outside the religion and preferences; to which it shows how not too different we are from the world. So we happy live like the world but hypocritical and judgemental because we live like them but swear we live different because we have a personal system that uses Christian language yet deny its power to do anything particularly meaningful so we act like. The world with its many justifications instead of a life characterized by sacrifice and relying on God's will and mercy for our lives. It is indeed a narrow road because few will actually find it, taste and see, and continue down the beaten path.

Yes I have struggled with this as well. Especially with habitual sins it can become difficult to keep going back yo the Lord. But we must regardless, brother. Do not give up. Know that Christ your savior is always wanting to unite/re-unite Himself to you. And He freely forgives if we repent and turn back to Him (even if we have to keep repenting from the same thing).

Read lives of the saints. Remember St. Mary of Egypt. Read and pray the Psalms. Read the prayers of the Orthodox church.. Let them wash over you as you listen to them. Get thee hence to an Orthodox church asap and don't give up. It is the hospital for the soul. Say the Jesus Prayer.. Pray to face with courage what the Lord must teach you for your salvation. ☦💝📿💝☦

Thankyou Father Josiah. I rode that train to the end when bloody and beaten I finally heard from the Lord through prayer exactly what you just described. It evolved upon me as an understanding. It wasn’t until then that I experienced marginal victory that kept increasing. His strength is truly made perfect in weakness. He prunes us one dead leaf and branch at a time. One filthy habit after another until hopefully one day we will experience His divine nature never forgetting that we are sinners even on our best day. We shall overcome through our God given faith, the shield of which shall withstand the most vicious firey darts of the evil one.

When demons try to work through your children and attack the family unit….its truly challenging and as a parent we feel like we’re failing at times. How do you combat this without your children feeling confused. I’ve only just recently left “ the world” and have Jesus the Holy Spirit and our Heavenly Father back. My children don’t really know Jesus and I feel truly regretful for that. I did until I was 10 and life changed, plus high school became my home.
