'The Italian Connection' Patrizia Tonello's light-hearted overview of her career as a visual artist and filmmaker in Western Australia, and how her Italian heritage may have influenced her artistic vision.
Made especially for the 90th anniversary of the teaching of Italian language and Culture at the University of Western Australia, Patrizia's short animated film was first presented to a viewing audience at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery on November 13, 2019 as part of a symposium titled 'Artistic Diaspora: An exploration of the Italian cultural legacy in Western Australia'.
Illustrated, animated, directed and edited by the artist herself, the film gives a brief overview of Patrizia's work as a painter, sculptor and filmmaker over a span of 30+ years.
