The manta video you put up was just the centre muffler kit, not the full exhaust like all the others.

Great video really like what your doing. how would 3.5” system go? Flow better etc?

Really depends, 3" is pretty good for naturally aspirated. If you have forced induction the extra flow can be of benefit. But staying around the 3" mark for the Patrol is the sweet spot and works well. Removing the restriction is the big thing.

@@WLD62 thank you no worries at all I will keep you posted on the build we make for the exhaust on mine and let you know what way we go. Just want it to sound nice and be less restrictive.

Just want to chime in a bit. Putting a different exhaust on doesn't give you any real power or efficiency gains. People think they are freeing up some hidden power ripping the factory exhaust off. They aren't. It's purely for sound The exhaust isn't a restriction, you could hammer a spot in the exhaust down till it's half the diameter and it won't make less power. The engine is only 5.6l That's 2.8l each bank. 2.5" exhaust is way oversized for a 2.8l engine. There is no restriction, not even in the factory one.

Yep, so show me a video of you pulling off a stock exhaust and putting on a bigger one and seeing any kind of real gain. It has been shown time and time again that just slapping an exhaust on does nothing more than change sound. And can actually hurt fuel economy because of less scavenging effect ​@@-Stickyfingers-

The only exhaust that sounds deep with a good note, and no thong slap. Is a Torqit I'm not sure what torqit you put up in your video. But that's not what the current one looks or sounds like

I do agree, it actually does sound quite nice. That must have been their older style.

@@WLD62 I have heard just about every one in person. Chose the Torqit. Love it. Sounds great, not too loud.

@@DarrenBoxhallI installed the Torqit cat-back on my Y62 Patrol. The sound is awesome but I tow a 2.7T caravan and I am noticing a drone when towing at cruising speeds. I did buy it because everyone swore it did not drone. I do notice though that the gearbox always tries to get into the highest gear possible and if I go to manual Mode and drop it down a gear say 7th to 6th I go up an 250RPM and the drone diminished though not entirely gone. It’s just annoying as I came from a VW Amarok towing the same caravan and its ZF gearbox is great and switches to a different automatic shift programme when towing. I believe a lot of Y62 owners who tow say they use Manual Gear selection - now I know why that may be so. Really would like to rid the drone and run Full Automatic.

@@johncanalese588 yeah you need to get it out of auto and just hold a gear with a touch more rpm. Yeah it's a shame, I hate jatco autos, but the 7 speed is pretty decent, but a shame it doesn't detect towing like you say. But it's not hart to flick it across to manual 6 or something
