Patsy had a torch singer quality to her. She was fabulous, and I loved watching you fall in love with her. Some of us have been doing that over and over again for awhile now.

I am 66 yrs old and way back in the 60's and 70's we all knew that at Christmas my grandaddy was going to have his one and only beer of the year and then dig out Patsy. I didn't appreciate her nearly enough back then, but I do now.

It a shame more of my generation doesn't appreciate the OGs. I will say though that more of us are waking up and discovering how amazing these OG artists are. I think I might know one of the reasons young people are starting to find the OGs. Those of us that are at all musical get tired of hearing the same thing over and over, and consciously or unconsciously we recognize that so much of today's music is very generic and formulaic. I know I personally crave something different and I tend to find that in the "Oldies". As I was writing this another thought hit me. Another reason could be the realness of the OG artists and their music. Today everything is so engineered and artificially created that you don't get the personal connection to the artist that you get with the OGs. There will always be exceptions. I know several current artists that still make music that connect in a similar fashion, but they are they usually independent underground artists who don't get the attention of the mainstream.

Patsy was phenomenal, but I’m telling you, to hear the best that Patsy ever did, listen to her version of “Faded Love”, especially the last 3 seconds. Also I’d recommend the live recording of Leann Rimes tribute to Patsy, it’s a medley of Patsy’s songs, including this one, and she does an amazing job. She got her start being called “the new Patsy Cline” & doing many of her songs.

Her voice sounds higher than all the other songs I've heard from her. Usually her voice is deeper, rich, and more mature sounding. It sounds higher and light on this track, which is interesting. I wonder why. Is it from earlier in her career? 🤔
@woohooboy5 ай бұрын
This was at the end of her career. This song was the last single released (in her lifetime) two months before her death. At this point, Patsy was moving into ballads/torch song territory and this was reflected in the material she was given.
