My fav place is right at the end of the beach at night near all the fishing boats. Never anyone down there at night. I go night fishing directly off the beach and thinking. Many plans hatched and solutions found down there.

Jomtien is great. An actual beach where you can swim and relax. I like the first beach where the chairs are right close to the water, spectacular.

I used to live in Jomtien. Youve got to get to the big motorbike show up Chiapruk 2 in Jomtien. It's amazing. They also do drifting events at the same place. The best night market in Jomtien area is at Thepprasit. Enjoying your work mate. Rob

When I bought my condo several years ago in Thailand. I had several friends make comments referring to pretty much why over Pattaya? Most thought I made a mistake. A good majority of them have moved out of Pattaya to Jomtien or further away since then. Ha ha ha

Strongly recommend girls (Thai and Farrang - we were a mix) hang out here. Less creeps, cleaner beach, fun vibes. Did not enjoy Pattaya and ironically the “mongers” were the polite ones 😅

I wouldn’t buy anywhere in Thailand personally.. most condos here actually depreciate here as new and better ones pop up.. best bet is to find somewhere you love, sign the contract and rent that sucker until the clock expires!

Adam, i had to go there instead of Pattaya beach. Right now i am staying in the Hilton, awesome hotel, but when you go outside......., man alive..., so busy because of the Chinese New Year. And the russians are back. Horrible people, so arrogant. I am not comming here again. Sorry that i had to bring this up, but no one is telling the truth any more. Easily offended or something. I am actually stoked for my Pattaya stay but i noticed the netting around the swimming beach, im used to netting meaning they are keeping out sharks. Do you know how diving is around Ko Lan or Jomtien? Sharks or jellyfish they are trying to keep out with those nets?

It’s swimming areas so you don’t get hit by a boat or jet ski as there’s lots of traffic

The buoys at the beaches, are to keep out jet skis, not sharks..

I got a question for you I just recently retired as a New York City union carpenter in New York City in the US and I’m really considering moving out there. If not maybe 6maybe 8 months of the year and my pensions is pretty decent. I made close to 4900 US a month doing nothing of course living in the US everything is so expensive so I’m really thinking about going over there,,,,,,, and one of my hobbies is fishing I love going out and catching fish. I have a passion for that,,,,,, So what do you think? Do you think I’ll be OK if I go over there?

Second question this goes for Bangkok and Pattaya I am staying at both. I have acid reflux which means if i drink more than 2 beers i puke, plus im not a fan of getting drunk while traveling. I do want to the gogos and bars to people watch and grab some boobs. Can I still sit there not buying alcohol, would the bars sell me water bottles at least or maybe even pay for a seating fee im fine with or even just buying the girls drinks? im just not keen on drinking on my trip. Im staying 2 weeks in Pattaya and 2 in Bangkok so my goal is chilling and girls, im just worried me not drinking will effect my fun.

When I go to Pattaya with mates I always stay at The Grand Condotel villas on Thappraya Rd opposite Thepprasit Rd which backs onto the beach. Love it down there. Yes, I know it's a gay beach. Not that there's anything wrong with that. 😂

Jomtien is the beach area I prefer to go in Pattaya...further away from the horde of foreign tourists that flock to the north side of town. As a skateboarder, you may also like windsurfing. If you're interested in taking some lessons, get in touch with Alek @Choke-D Windsurf Club. He used to be on the Thai national team for windsurfing.
