Went on a daytrip from Bangkok to see the massive Buddha image in late 90's. Looks even better now with the surrounding greenery well established. Those gardeners may be loud, but they've done a good job!

Awesome golden Buddha on the mountain, first saw it 25 years ago, still just as beautiful. I really enjoy Si Racha and the temple there. Been many times. Sorry you did not make it to Koh Si Chang a real nice laid back island. Another great video Paddy. Finish line is in sight. Hope to be there.

FWI Many Japanese and S Koreans live around Sriracha ( some in Pattaya also) because the fathers work for international companies based at the Eastern Seaboard industrial park nearby. The Eastern Seaboard industrial park has many of the brand name international companies making / assembling electronics, air conditioners, automobiles, automotive parts, certain airline part- a real mix of international manufacturers there.

Hi Paddy, the large presence of Japanese in Sri Racha is not primarily related to tourism. Sri Racha served as a preferred location for Japanese who live in Thailand. Many work at the numerous industrial estates in the area at Japanese companies operating there. Sri Racha is home to a large Japanese international school and many restaurants and pubs exist to cater to this locally based Japanese community.

Hopefully I'll see you around Koh Tao! Some really great hikes, check out Grapeview (trail starts near Dusit Buncha, overlooking Koh Nang Yuan), or Laem Thien (trail starts near Tarna Align, goes to an abandoned beach resort with great snorkeling). Maya Bar for sunset, The Local for after sunset. Depending on when you're going we have a few larger events going on.

That sure was a way better road to take and enjoy from Pattaya to Bangkok mate, a epic laser budha 🙏 We rushed in a cab from pattaya to DMK airport as quick as we could this year and seen nothing much alomg the way, but that was cause plans changed so quick due to what was going on in our situation at that time 😉 Anyhow as always, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻

Thailand has the fourth highest number of Japanese expatriates in the world after the United States, China and Australia. " Sri-ra-cha " (ศรีราชา) Chonburi probably is the 2nd largest Japanese community in Thailand because of many Japanese own business and factories are located here in the area call 'Amata City' (industrial estate) and Japanese companies make up about 63% of the total number of factories in the industrial estates. The rest are domestic clients or foreign investors from 27 countries. Sriracha also the home of (world famous/original) "Sriracha hot sauce", the sauce was born here in Sriracha, Chonburi, Thailand and that where the name came from.

Hi Paddy, great video. The toll way between BKK and Pattaya is pretty boring, so this might be a good alternative. The Mudskippes are so fun to watch. Besides the Mudskipper going on land, I can think of the Climbing gourami. It can even climb trees. The ell and the snakehead goes on land as well. There are probably lots of other fishes that visit land. Sounds fishy but I think it's true :) HAPPY B-DAY!!!
